Heirs of the Prophets and the Followers of McCarthy

If you have devoted your life to Him, if you witness an ant being hurt you will feel distressed.
Forget an ant, today there is so much pain and hurt.
Although you are in total submission and have total reliance on God, it becomes inevitable for you to witness these and feel sad as a human being.
As a result, one is concerned about places where injustice and persecution is occurring: Bu açıdan, akla gelen her yeri hemen sormak icap ediyor, hususiyle şöyle-böyle bazı fay kırılmalarının yaşandığı yerleri:
You ask, 'What is happening over there?' "Acaba orada durum nasıl?" falan diyorsunuz.
This is because those issues that concern you are Divine blessings, not the fruits of your effort. Çünkü alâkadar olduğunuz şeyler, sizin semere-i sa'yiniz değil, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın lütfu.
You said the following and set out on this path: Öyle demiş ve yürümüşsünüzdür:
'All things are from God' '(O human being!) Whatever good happens to you, it is from God; and whatever evil befalls you, it is from yourself' (An-Nisa, 4:79). "Hepsi Allah'tan." "Sana gelen iyilik/güzellik, Allah'tan; fenalık da nefsinden, senin sebebiyet vermendendir" (Nisa, 4:79).
If there are positive outcomes in our actions, these are because of our Lord, our Prophet, the essence of our religion; not with our limited capabilities. Yapılan şeylerde bir güzellik varsa şayet, Rabbimizi alâkadar eder, Peygamberimizi, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem, alâkadar eder, dinin ruhunu/özünü alâkadar eder güzel şeyler varsa, bunları bizim güç, kuvvet ve iktidarımız ile değerlendirmek, doğru değil.
Based on cause and effect, it is not possible for us and our actions to be the cause and result of such things. Tenâsüb-i illiyet prensibine göre, biz ve ef'âlimiz, bunlara vesile olamaz, sebep olamayız.
The True Cause of All Causes, may He be glorified and exalted, His favours, compliments, nearness and company are the reason behind these outcomes. Hazreti Müsebbibu'l-esbâb'ın, celle celâluhu, teveccühü, iltifatı, nefehâtı, ünsü, kurbu, maiyyeti.
Therefore this is Him entrusting, first and foremost to the Prophet, followed by those great people of various eras that followed him. Dolayısıyla O'nun emaneti; tabii başta Hazreti Sâhib-i Şerîat'a, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem ve O'ndan sonra da değişik çağlarda gelen büyük insanlara emaneti.
In this age, it seems that He has put His trust in you.
First: Bir:
The vastness of what was achieved indicates that they cannot be explained with our strength and abilities, because God has planted love in the hearts of people; this is something you cannot procure.
When you are subjected to the same challenges as the great Messengers and the respected scholars, it is a sign that you are on the right path.
It is the path of the Messengers. Yol, peygamberlerin yolu.
Therefore, even if you are troubled and in discomfort, you need to bear it for the sake of the path and keep striving.
They suffered; and you are suffering the same. Onlar da çekmişler; çektiklerini çekiyorsunuz.
In this respect, we need to regard this as a 'Trust' to us.
That way, our feelings, reflections, and reasoning will in a way encapsulate this 'Trust' in a protective manner: Öyle olunca, duygularımız, düşüncelerimiz, mantığımız, muhakememiz, bir yönüyle, koruyucu ve himaye edici mahiyette, o işin üzerinde tir tir titremeli:
'May no harm come to this Trust; it doesn't belong to us'. It was entrusted upon us by the previous generations and we need to carry it forward to the next generations without causing any damage to it. This is a matter of being loyal to the Trust. "Aman bir zarar gelmesin; emanet, bize ait değil" biz, bizden evvelki nesillerden aldık ise bunu veya onlar getirip omuzumuza yükledirler ise şayet, bizden sonraki nesillere arızasız, zedelemeden o meseleyi intikal ettirmemiz, emanete vefanın ifadesidir.
A believer should be trustworthy in regards to what is entrusted in him, and a believer -in essence- represents trust on earth. Mü'min, emanette emin olmalıdır ve mü'min -esasen- yeryüzünde emniyet ve güvenin temsilcisidir.
Believers should especially be trustworthy regarding this important responsibility on their shoulders.
For this reason, your mind is constantly engaged with these kinds of things.
If only our minds were always busy with these kinds of things so that they would not engage in other trivial matters.
You may be subjected to inappropriate actions. Yakışıksız, şık olmayan şeylere maruz kalabilirsiniz.
These may hurt you at times. Bunlar, bazen dokunur, can yakıcı olabilir.
But this needs to be considered as requirement or even characteristic of the path.
Because, you bear the responsibility to smoothen the path for those who will journey on it after you. Çünkü siz, arkadan gelenlere patikaları şehrâh yapma sorumluluğu altında bulunuyorsunuz.
You need to do everything in your power to make sure that those who will follow you do not suffer the same fate. Çektiğiniz şeyleri onların çekmemesi için, elinizden gelen her şeyi yapacaksınız.
Those who came before you endured all kinds of troubles in order to smoothen the path for you. Sizden evvelkiler, her şeye katlandılar, o patikaları sizin için şehrâh yapma adına.
And then they sealed it with a 'seal of hope': Ve sonra meseleye bir "ümit" mührü de vurdular:
They said, 'Do not lose hope! The loudest and strongest voice in this time of revolutions will be the voice of Islam, the voice of true humanity.' "Ümitvâr olunuz; şu istikbal inkılabâtı içinde, en yüksek ve gür sadâ, İslam'ın sadâsı olacaktır" dediler.
Those people don't make false or exaggerated claims. O zatlar, hilâf-ı vâki ve mübalağa sayılacak beyanda bulunmazlar.
Everything they say is a Divine inspiration to their hearts and minds; their intellects are always open to signals from beyond, from the beyond of all beyond. Konuştukları her şey, onların kalblerine, kafalarına atılan varidâttır; her zaman ötelerden, ötelerin ötesinden gelen sinyallere açıktır onların kafaları.
Thus, if they did say so, do not lose hope; the loudest and strongest voice in the time of upheaval and change will be the voice of Islam.
Therefore, no matter how far, the glad tidings and the goal that the Noble Spirit of the Master of Humankind showed is going to come true.
And he says, by Almighty God: O da Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın bildirmesiyle diyor:
'He does not speak on his own, out of his own desire; That (which he conveys to you) is but a Revelation that is revealed to him. "O, asla hevâ ve hevesinden konuşmaz; O'nun size söyledikleri, ancak kendisine vahyolunan vahiyden ibarettir.
One of forceful might (Gabriel) has taught it; One firm, with the ability to penetrate and perfect in spirit, rose with all his splendour' (An-Najm, 53:3-6).
He does not speak on his own, out of his own desire. Hevâ ve hevesine göre konuşmaz.
A truthful one, who overcomes all boundaries communicated to him, conveys those messages of God; he then relates these.
Some of these are read, sent down with its meaning and words together, just like the Holy Qur'an.
One can regard perfectly sound Prophetic traditions such.
And some are Divine inspirations. Bazıları da "varidât" şeklindedir; ona, "mevâhib-i ledünniyye" diyoruz.
Therefore, all is from God; the noble Prophet gives voice to what Almighty God says on a matter. Dolayısıyla hepsi Allah'tan; O, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın o mevzuda dediği şeylere tercüman oluyor.
'My name is going to reach everywhere where the sun rises and sets', you've heard it many times; you've heard it from others, and you've heard it from me as well. "Benim nâmım, güneşin doğup-battığı her yere ulaşacaktır" bunu çok duydunuz; başkalarından da duydunuz, Kıtmîr'den de duydunuz.
Thus, this must be the principal responsibility and obligation. Dolayısıyla esas sorumluluk ve vazife, o olmalı.
If you walk on that path, if you've been shown that way, you must bear the hardships of the way and you must know that those before you bore much, much greater hardships on the path.
When a rose fell into a garden of thorns, the nightingale's heart was hurt. "Gül hâre düştü, sîne-figâr oldu andelib
It watched both the rose and the thorns, and passed away crying. Bir hâre baktı bir güle, zâr oldu andelib."
When a rose fell into a garden of thorns, the nightingale's heart was hurt. (Gül dikenliğe düşünce, bülbülün sinesi yaralandı.
It watched both the rose and the thorns, and passed away crying.
Yes, this said in the form of Sabk Hindi (the Indian style). Evet, Sebk-i Hindî üzerine söylenmiş.
(In literature, 'Sabk-i Hindi' is the name of a poetic style that has its roots in India.)
It is possible to analyse the similes and metaphors used; this is expressed by Naili Qadim. Teşbihler ve istiareler ile tahlili kâbil; Nâilî-i Kadîm'in ifadesi.
Yes, when a rose falls into a garden of thorns, a nightingale will cry, it will wail as it looks at the rose and the garden of thorns.
This is exactly what you are subject to at the moment. Aynen şu anda maruz kaldığınız şey.
But when you see this, you should think: Fakat bunları görünce, diyeceksiniz ki:
Prophet Noah did not live his life free from difficulties or persecution. Seyyidinâ Hazreti Nuh, ondan âzâde kalmadı ki.
Nor did Prophet Hud or Prophet Salih. Hazreti Hûd, âzâde kalmadı ki.
I am listing the Prophets in chronological order as mentioned in the Qur'an, nor did Prophet Lot.
Nor did Prophet Abraham. Hazreti İbrahim, bundan âzâde kalmadı ki.
The Pride of Humanity, peace and blessings be upon him, suffered for thirteen years in the Noble Mecca. İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem; Mekke-i Mükerreme'de on üç sene.
He was subject to all sorts of challenges and difficulties. They did everything in their hands to cause severe distress.
It would have been impossible to withstand the pressure if he did not have the strength. Eğer O'ndaki o immün sisteminin gücü, o mukavemet olmasaydı, yapılan şeyler karşısında hakikaten kan kusardı.
Not once did he complain during the thirteen years in Mecca. Fakat on üç sene dayandı; hiç şikâyet etmedi.
I did not hear a single word other than an short reproach expressed to our mother Aisha, 'My people have made me suffer a lot.'
What did he suffer, what did he do, how did he persevere? Ne çekmiş, ne etmiş, neye katlanmış?
According to the statements of great figures, 'If the hardships befallen upon the Prophet had been placed on Mount Everest, it would have instantly transformed into the Dead Sea.' Büyük insanların beyanına göre, büyük insanların beyânına göre, "Everest Tepesi'nin başına düşseydi O'nun çektiği şey, o tepe, birden bire Lût gölüne dönerdi."
I have addressed the issue with this analogy several times; I have given you a headache.
'If the hardships befallen upon the Prophet had been placed on Mount Everest, it would have instantly been into the Dead Sea', yet the Prophet does not complain in the slightest. "O'nun çektikleri, Everest Tepesi'nin başına düşseydi, Lût gölüne dönüşürdü" fakat zerre kadar şikâyette bulunmuyor.
What he says at times. Bazen dediği şeyler O'nun.
Those cherished words. O dediği şeylere cân kurban.
Practicing them meticulously is the greatest worship. Milimi milimine onları yapmak, en büyük ibadettir.
His words. O'nun dediği şeyler.
Complying with his words and following his footsteps is a prominent indication of traveling on the path to God.
Those who are not walking towards Him, those who are not on the path of God Almighty have been engrossed in shadows.
This means, those who are engrossed in the world have turned their backs on the Messenger; and those who turned their backs on him are considered to have turned their backs on Him, God forbid.
He, peace and blessings be upon him, is a cause as great as the goal.
A cause, a method, a reason proportionate to the goal.
In fact, by reciting 'There is no deity but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God' and bringing the exalted Name of God and the honourable name 'Muhammad' together, He draws attention to the company there. Zaten Allah, celle celâluhu da "La ilahe illallah, Muhammed'ur-Resulullah" demek suretiyle, Lafza-ı celâl ile beraber "Muhammed" ism-i şerifini yan yana getirerek zikrediyor; o maiyyete dikkati çekiyor.
God says 'Look', look at the esteemed company, in different verses. "Bakın" diyor Allah, celâluhu, onu o mahiyette yapıyor, değişik yerlerde.
The same parable is evident in the foundation of religion and believing; the acknowledgment 'There is no deity but God' or the declaration 'I bear witness that there is no deity but God'.
We need to evaluate the Prophet's value here; our imperfect understanding is not in a position to fully elucidate the matter.
Essentially, this is what we are not familiar with; if only we did, may be then when we place our forehead in prostration each day, Esas, O'nu bilemiyoruz; bilsek, belki her gün başımızı yere koyduğumuz zaman.
I mentioned this today in regards to another matter. When I lay my head on the ground, as if I were the soles of feet; Bugün bir münasebetle arz ettim; böyle başımı yere koyduğum zaman, ayaklarının altını öpüyor gibi.
'Please my Lord. "Ne olur ya Rabbi.
If only he could appear so I could kiss beneath his feet or wipe the dust he stepped upon on my face.' 'The dust of Medina is a polish on the face of Quddusi,' says the poet.
'The dust of Medina is a polish on the face of Quddusi.' "Medine'nin izi-tozu, Kuddûsî'nin yüzüne tûtiyâdır" diyor.
If we comprehended the matter completely, if we knew him with his true value, every time we placed our head to the ground we would say, 'If only he would step on us like a sidewalk; if only he would bless us with such an honour.' Evet, meseleyi tam bilsek, O'nu kıymet-i harbiyesiyle tanısak, zannediyorum, her başımızı yere koyduğumuzda, "Keşke o mübarek ayağını başımıza bassa, kaldırım taşı gibi; o kadar şeref bize lütfeylese" falan derdik.
If we knew him completely. O'nu tam bilsek.
But most of humankind, I do not mean you, could not understand his true value. They could not comprehend his purpose and mission, nor understand his place in the sight of God. Ama insanlığın çoğu -size demiyorum- O'nu kıymet-i harbiyesiyle bilemediler, vazife ve misyonu itibarıyla kavrayamadılar, nezd-i Ulûhiyetteki yerini anlayamadılar.
As we read this morning, he is a means for a purpose.
Both from an 'Ahmad' and 'Muhammad' perspective. O, çok önemlidir Ahmedî yanıyla, Muhammedî yanıyla.
He is the first. The universe is created for his sake. O, ilk; kâinat, O'nun yüzü suyu hürmetine yaratılıyor:
'The first thing God created was the pen (of destiny).', 'God first created my light,' he says. "Allah'ın ilk yarattığı kalemdir." "Allah'ın ilk yarattığı benim nurumdur" buyuruyor O.
And when he explains his mission in regards to the hereafter, he states that at a time when everyone utters, 'My soul, my soul,' he will raise the flag of intercession and open his arms to people under the Banner of Praise. Ve mahşerle alâkalı, kendi durumunu ve misyonunu ifade ederken de orada herkesin "Nefsî, nefsî" dediği anda O, şefaat bayrağını dalgalandırmak suretiyle, "Livâu'l-hamd" altında başkalarına kucak açacak;
With God's leave and favour he will be the reason for people to reach paradise. Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle, başkalarının râh-i selâmete ulaşmalarına vesile olacak.
Most of us were unable to know his true value and appreciate him. O'nu, kıymet-i harbiyesiyle, çoğumuz bilemedik, takdir edemedik.
We look to the world with all of our strength, benefit from the pleasures of the world, chase power and luxury. It is not possible for people who have not been able to concentrate to develop the appropriate depth of feelings towards him. Bir taraftan bütün güç ve kuvvetimiz ile dünyaya bakarken, dünyayı yaşarken, dünyanın zevklerinden istifade ederken, saltanat ve debdebe arkasından koşarken, servet ü sâmân arkasından koşarken, konsantre olmamış/olamamış insanların O'nu kendine has derinliği ile duyması mümkün değildir.
So do not be disappointed by anyone. Onun için birilerine gönül koymayın.
They worship the world. What can they do? Dünyaya tapıyorlar, ne yapsınlar?
They worship wealth. What can they do? Servete tapıyorlar, ne yapsınlar?
They worship status. What can they do? Makama tapıyorlar, ne yapsınlar?
They worship palaces. What can they do? Saraya tapıyorlar, ne yapsınlar?
They worship applause. What can they do? Alkışa tapıyorlar, ne yapsınlar?
If you worship so many things, you cannot love Him, you cannot worship God.
If someone is so distracted, they cannot focus on this, cannot comprehend Him.
And if someone does not understand Him, everything they say is just lip service. Not true heartfelt words.
Let those lips and tongue that do not serve the heart dry out. Kalbin sesi-soluğu olmayan o dil-dudak kuruyuversin.
Such Islam, making such religion part of life, engaging in its politics, developing it Öyle Müslümanlık, öyle Müslümanlığı hayata hayat kılma, onun siyasetini getirme, tesis etme.
If these are not functions of the heart, that tongue deserves to dry up.
And such things are lies and deceit. I swear by God they are lies.
These are nothing but the grumblings of hypocrites. Bunlar, münafık hırıltısından başka bir şey değildir.
If one loves Him, he or she won't be able to think of anyone or anything else. O'nu seven, O'ndan başkasını düşünmez.
For two loved ones cannot reside in the one heart. Zira bir gönülde iki mahbûb, birden bulunmaz.
Rasih Bey says: 'There is pain in the heart; do not visit now joy. "Dilde keder var, lütfedip gelme ey sürûr
There cannot be two hosts in one house.'
'There is pain in the heart; do not visit now joy. There cannot be two hosts in one house.' Dilde keder var, lütfedip gelme, ey sürûr; zira bulunmaz bir hanede mihman, mihman üstüne.
And if you have hosted Him, you will forget the name, the title and the countenance of others. O'nu misafir etmişseniz şayet, diğer şeylerin bazen adını unutursunuz, namını unutursunuz, simasını unutursunuz.
In this regard, if one pays utmost attention they will say, 'Good gracious!' O mevzuda tam konsantrasyona girince, insan, "Allah Allah.
'What were the names of my children? Ne idi yahu benim şu evlatlarımın adı?
What were the names of my parents?' Ne idi benim anamın-babamın adı?" falan der.
Because they have committed wholly to that cause, they have become annihilated in God. Çünkü kendini tamamen o işe vermiş, "Fenâ firrasûl", "Fenâ fillah" olmuş.
In that sense, do not pay attention to the situation of a person who is worldly-minded; do not condemn and become offended by their actions.
'It is rare to find a blemish with those of immaculate constitution "Nâdir bulunur tıynet-i kâmilde kusur
Whatever evil appears comes from base character' Kem-mâyeden eyler ne ki eylerse zuhur." (Râgıb Paşa).
They acted as their character dictated. Karakterlerinin gereğini sergiliyorlar.
Ragip says: Râgıb Paşa diyor:
Whatever evil appears comes from base character' "Kem-mâyeden eyler ne ki eylerse zuhur."
And you will demonstrate what is required by your character; considering everything in optimism, everything. Siz de kendi karakterinizin gereğini ortaya koyacaksınız; hoş göreceksiniz, her şeyi hoş göreceksiniz.
Even if you are not happy with it, you will not be nasty Hoş görmeseniz bile, nâ-hoş görmeyeceksiniz.
Even if you feel unpleasant, do not express it. Nâ-hoş görseniz dahi, dillendirmeyeceksiniz.
I remember Imam Bukhari's well-known saying: İmam Buhari'nin -sizin de bildiğiniz- bir sözü aklıma geldi burada:
The great Imam Bukhari... Koca İmam Buharî.
If they had lived in the time of the Israelites, these people were at the level of Prophethood. İsrailoğulları döneminde olsaydı, peygamber olabilecek seviyede insanlardır bunlar:
Bukhari, Abu Hanifa, Abu Hanbal, Al-Malik and Ash-Shafi... Buharî, Ebu Hanife, Ahmed İbn Hanbel, İmam Mâlik, İmam Şafiî.
They are people with exalted and lofty ranks. Öyle yüksek payeli insanlardır bunlar.
He says, 'I desire to return to God without having committed anyone's gossip'. "Hiç kimseyi gıybet etmeden, ta'n etmeden, Allah'a kavuşmayı arzu ediyorum" diyor.
'I desire to return to God without having uttered one word of such.' Let me express a limitation of myself here in parentheses. "Bir tek kelime ile kimseyi ta'n etmeden Allah'a kavuşmayı arzu ediyorum" burada bir eksiğimi antrparantez arz edeyim.
I thought this phrase belonged to Abu Hanifa. Ben, bu sözün Ebu Hanife'ye ait olduğunu zannediyordum.
However, I saw in its source that it belonged to Bukhari.
However, Abu Hanifa could possibly have said this and Bukhari could have repeated it; as he comes after him.
All of their constant recitation was identical in essence. Hepsinin vird-i zebânı, aynı şey idi, esasen.
Their tolerance was a part of their esteemed character and depth. Hoş görme meselesi, bir ahlak-ı âliye halinde tabiatlarının bir derinliği haline gelmişti.
They did not censure or reproach anyone. Kimseyi ta'n u teşniye yanaşmıyorlardı.
They knew not of lies. Yalan, bilmiyorlardı.
Slandering was foreign to their thought process. İftira, onların düşünce lügatlerinde yoktu.
Censure or reproach did not belong in their dictionary. Ta'n u teşni, düşünce lügatlerinde/sözlüklerinde yoktu.
When you mentioned such things, they would ask, 'what does that mean?'
And today there are some people who, I abstain from calling them hypocrites, but nonetheless carry the traits of one, say when they are backbiting.
'In war, trick is permissible.' "Savaş bir yönüyle ayak oyunudur."
When they slander they say: İftira ederken diyorlar ki:
  "Savaş bir yönüyle ayak oyunudur."
When cursing they say: Ta'n ederken diyorlar ki:
  "Savaş bir yönüyle ayak oyunudur."
When trying to discredit the opposition they say: İtibarsızlaştırırken diyorlar ki:
'In war, trick is permissible' and carry out a thousand evil acts, continually change their stance and deceive and on every occasion they turn around and say: "Savaş bir yönüyle ayak oyunudur" bin tane mesâvî irtikâp ediyor, bin defa fırıldak gibi dönüş yapıyor; dönüyor ve her defasında diyorlar ki:
'In war, trick is permissible.' "Savaş bir yönüyle oyundur, ayak oyunudur."
This in truth means, in a material war, there should be no lying, no slander and no tricking; strategy should be about diverting the attention of the enemy and gaining victory with the least amount of fatalities. Hâlbuki o, maddî savaşlarda, maddî cihatlarda; hem de yalan söylememek, gıybet etmemek, falanı aldatmamak şartıyla/kaydıyla; belki strateji farklılığıyla başkalarını yanıltarak, az kan dökmeye matuf büyük zafer elde etme ile alakalı.
The overall position of the Pride of Humanity, peace and blessings be upon him, on this matter is detailed in The Infinite Light.
The straightforward way to victory is through implementing different strategies and confusing the opposition.
For instance, an army goes to Mecca and the enemy would not hear of it. Mesela Mekke-i Mükerreme'ye gidecek; kimsenin haberi yok bundan.
When they eventually do, they see an arranged camp comprising of 1000 tents 5 km out of town.
This is his strategy: 1000 tents. Bin tane çadır kuruyor, o da O'nun stratejisi.
The enemy will calculate this as, '1000 tents. Kendi kafalarında, "Bin tane çadır.
10 people in each tent, totaling 10,000 people; if possible 20 in each, then an army of 20,000. Her çadırda on tane insan olsa, on bin tane insan; yirmi tane insan olursa, yirmi bin tane insan.
If an organised group of 20,000 people were standing at the entry of Mecca and you had no idea of this arrival, then the best thing to do would be to surrender'.
'Surrender and find salvation. "Teslim ol, selâmeti bul.
So that God can double your rewards,' this is stated in the letter written by the Prophet to of Heraclius, he says: Allah da senin mükâfatını iki kat versin" bunu, Herakliyus'a yazdığı mektupta, nâme-i hümâyun-i nebevîde, Efendimiz, ifade buyuruyor:
  "Teslim ol, selâmeti bul.
So that God may double your rewards.' Allah da senin mükâfatını iki kat versin."
Yes, they see the tents from far away and ask in curiosity: Evet, karşıdan çadırları görüyorlar ve merak edip soruyorlar:
'We were wondering how many camels are being slaughtered to eat.' "Acaba kaç tane deve kesiliyor?"
They try to obtain a number using this strategy. Bir de onun ile ölçüyorlar meseleyi.
They already know how many people a camel can feed, they are just trying to estimate the total number of people.
When he knocks on their doors, there is only one thing that they can do. Kapılarına dayandığı zaman, yapacak hiçbir şey bilemiyorlar.
And he displays his courtesy. Sonra O'na civanmertliğini sergilemek düşüyor orada.
When he reaches the Ka'ba he acts in a manner becoming of him: Kâbe'nin kapısının önünde durunca -Canım kurban olsun.- karakterinin gereğini seslendiriyor:
'What do you expect from me?', He asks. "Benden ne bekliyorsunuz?" diyor.
They respond, 'You are the son of Abdullah, the grandson of Abdul Muttalib; You are the grandson of Hashim; you are the grandson of Adnan; above all these, you are the son of the Prophet Ismail, you are generous.' "Sen, kerim oğlu kerimsin; Abdullah'ın oğlu, Abdulmuttalib'in torunusun; Sen, Hâşim'in torunu; Sen, Adnan'ın torunu; Sen, bütün onların üstünde Hazreti İsmail'in torunusun" manasına "Sen, Kerim oğlu kerimsin." "Sen, öyle birisisin" diyorlar.
He then replies, 'Go, you are all free'. "Gidin, hepiniz hürsünüz" buyuruyor.
Think about it, Mecca is conquered and these people are feeling abased. Düşünün, Mekke fethediliyor; onlar, onurları kırılmış orada.
But these words become a new fresh breath for them.
And they leave. Ayrılıp gidiyorlar.
Our noble Prophet finished his words using Prophet Joseph's words: Efendimiz, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem, sözünü şunlarla -Hazreti Yusuf'un sözleri ile- kâfiyelendiriyor:
'No. "Hayır.
No reproach this day shall be on you Bugün size hiçbir kınama yok.
(I have already forgiven you) May God forgive you, too. (Ben hakkımı çoktan helâl ettim;) Allah da sizi affetsin.
Indeed, He is the Most Merciful of the merciful' (Yusuf, 12:92). Çünkü O, bütün merhamet edenlerin üstünde mutlak merhamet sahibidir" (Yusuf, 12:92).
'There is no condemnation for you today. "Bugün kınama yok.
God is the All-Compassionate; He will forgive you for all your sins.' Allah, Erhamürrâhimîn'dir, sizin her şeyinizi affeder."
Even Abu Sufyan and his wife Hind, filled with grudge and hatred, hide in their house and observe through their windows and say: 'I swear, His words are confirmed by God.'
And soon after, two years later, Abu Sufyan joins the battle of Yarmuk with his wife.
And he fights in the path of the Messenger of God, against an army that aims to destroy the beauties the Messenger of God brought. Allah Rasûlü'nün yolunda ve Allah Rasûlü'nün getirdiği şeyleri yıkmaya matuf gelen bir orduya karşı savaşıyor orada.
They display exponential growth. Öyle amudî bir yükseliş sergiliyorlar ki.
Such growth that will amaze you.
Let me mention this as an aside: Ben burada antrparantez ifade edeyim:
I had trouble comprehending the exponential growth of both Abu Sufyan and Khalid ibn al-Walid.
How did they grow so much in as little as three years! Üç sene içinde insanların bu ölçüde, böyle seviye kat' etmeleri?
If one embarks upon non-stop spiritual growth, eats a meal once a month, drinks only a sip of water a week, lives life fully focused on God, it is still not possible for one to reach the level they did. Hiç durmadan seyr u sülük-i ruhânî yapsa, ayda bir yemek yese, her hafta da bir yudum su içse, hep Cenâb-ı Hakk'a müteveccih olsa, bir insan, bu seviyede yükselemez, mümkün değil.
As you know, Khalid is in a tent, blood running down his body, saying 'there is not one area on my body on which I did not have a sword wound'. Ama işte bildiğiniz gibi, Hazreti Halid, çadırın içinde, vücudundan şakır şakır kanlar akıyor, "Vücudumda kılıç yarası almadığım bir tek yer yoktur.
'But as you see, I am dying in this undignified way in this tent'.
This is an expression of such a high spiritual state, such a high spiritual inhalation.
I segued here. Şuradan bu girizgâha girmiştim:
Others will do as their characters require. But you must do what your character requires. Başkaları, kendi karakterlerinin gereğini sergilerler; siz, size düşeni yapacaksınız.
Your predecessors suffered what needed to be suffered, perhaps multiple times of that. Sizden evvel gelenler -esasen- çekmiş, çekilecek şeyleri çekmiş; hatta kat katını çekmişler.
He says so anyway: Öyle buyurmuş zaten:
The harshest afflictions are those that befall Prophets; the most trying, impossible, grueling troubles are those borne by the Prophets. "Belanın en çetini, en zorlusu, enbiyanın başına gelendir; en aşılmazı, en belalısı, enbiyanın başına gelendir.
And after that, according to their level, other people.
When I consider it from my perspective, I think about my mistakes and sins. Kendi adıma ben meseleye baktığım zaman, hatalarımı, günahlarımı düşünüyorum.
According to what God bestowed me with, and how he stationed me, I did not do justice to it, He is causing me to suffer to purify me, as an expression of his mercy and kindness to me.
But for you, He is causing you to suffer to increase your spiritual rank.
If He is allowing your sisters and brothers to suffer, those who are at the forefront of this service to his cause, those dispersed all across the globe for the purpose of furthering that lofty ideal of spreading the name of Prophet all over the world, Hizmet eden kardeşlerinize, hizmette öncülük yapan kardeşlerinize, dünyanın dört bir yanına yayılan kardeşlerinize, o yüksek gaye-i hayali realize etme istikametinde, yani, nâm-ı celîl-i nebevînin dört bir yanda şehbal açmasını gerçekleştirme istikametinde hareket eden kardeşlerinize çektiriyorsa.
One; since suffering is actually what those before you have experienced, if you are on that path, you are inheriting that from them. Bir; esasen çekme sizden evvelki büyüklerin çektiği şey olduğundan dolayı, o yolda iseniz, tevârüs ediyorsunuz onu.
Just as a child inherits property from their father, you have inherited the mission with respect to its thoughts from those before you; you have inherited it with all its trials and tribulations.
Those wonderful and beautiful things. O iyilikler ve güzellikler.
'The path to greatness is through hardship.' "Meşakkat miktarı, yükseklik tahsil edilir."
In other words, the trust you have obtained from them. Yani, onlardan aldığınız o güzel emanet.
That wonderful trust, will make you rise exponentially; however at the same time, it is surrounded by hardships and difficulties.
Thus, you have inherited this trust with all its aspects. Dolayısıyla onu, onun ile beraber almış bulunuyorsunuz.
Hence you should see these matters as quite natural, very natural and normal. Onun için meseleyi gayet tabii görmek lazım, gayet tabii.
I personally cannot see it that way, I am a weak person; I complain. Ben göremiyorum, zayıf bir insanım esasen; âh u vah ediyorum, feryad ediyorum.
In the face of all the buzzing I also try to make noise like a drum, add to the noise.
But God willing you are not doing that, you are interpreting the misfortunes that are befalling us as a cleansing; you are saying, 'God does everything with wisdom, He does not perform trivial acts' and you are approaching the matter with the mindset of 'God will most probably give us extra blessings after this'.
Even if it is not for you, it will be for the generations after you and good deeds will be flowing in to your book of deeds forever. Size olmasa bile, sizden sonraki nesillere olacak ve sizin defter-i hasenatınıza sürekli hep hayırlar akıp duracak.
I think it is worth being patient through everything for this mission. Bence bu iş için her şeye katlanılır.
God willing you will persevere without complaining; instead of complaining you will enjoy sighs of relief. İnşaallah sizler, "Uff" demeden "Puff" demeden katlanacaksınız; "Off."ların "Puff."ların yerine "Ohh be" diyeceksiniz, oksijen yudumluyor gibi "Ohh be" diyeceksiniz.
You have made these sighs of relief till now; it is not my due to suggest this to you now in a didactical manner; from now on in the face of everything you experience make a sigh of relief.
'He made us suffer once.' Bir kere çektirdi."
According to a Prophetic saying, even the thorn that pricks the sole of a foot is a means for forgiveness of one's past sins.
It is a means to be cleansed. Arınma vesilesi.
If a rock injures your feet that is a cause to be forgiven. Bir taş, ayağınızı incitiyorsa, ona vesile oluyor.
If you come across inappropriate attitudes towards you, that is a means to be forgiven.
If your reputation is defamed then that is a means to forgiveness. İtibarsızlaştırma adına bir şeye maruz kalıyorsanız, ona vesile oluyor.
Consequently, you are constantly on the cusp of victory. Dolayısıyla, sürekli -böyle- kazanma kuşağında yaşıyorsunuz.
Those who live on the cusp of victory, are those who journey towards 'The Eternal Sun', they have strived in that path, they have decided on that path; their shadows are always behind them. Kazanma kuşağında yaşayanlar, Şemsü's-Şümûs'a doğru seyahate azmetmişler, karar kılmışlar; gölgeleri hep arkada.
Darkness should always be behind you; a person must always walk towards the light, with God's leave. Karanlık zaten hep arkada olmalı; insan hep ışığa doğru yürümeli, Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile.
It will continue to be so, as it has been until today, despite this minor tremor, it will continue to be so after today.
Some people will come out and say like McCarthy once did, 'the witch hunt continues'; look at who they are inheriting their legacy from. Kalkıp bazıları diyecekler ki, McCarthy gibi, "Cadı avı devam ediyor" bakın; mirası kimden alıyorlar.
You are saying that, 'with its hardship, enjoyment, pleasure, ease, pain, poison, sweetness, anguish, we have inherited this from the Prophets and the saints.'
They use the language of McCarthy when they call it a 'witch hunt'. O da konuştuğu yerde, McCarthy'nin sözünü söylüyor, "Cadı avı" diyor.
They say, 'We will continue to abduct people.' "İnsan kaçırmaya devam edeceğiz" diyor.
They say, 'Let the whole word know about this. "Yedi cihanın haberi olsun bundan.
In different places, we will plot to raid homes, break doors. Değişik yerlerde, komplolarla evleri basacak, kapıları kıracağız.
Like we did in Kosovo, in Moldova, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in many different places, in however many places there have been attempts established to represent goodness, we will strive to destroy them all because we are on the path of McCarthy.
We have inherited all of the characteristics that McCarthy represents'. Ona ait bütün hususiyetleri de tevarüs etmişiz" diyor.
'If they come to your door, never ever accept them. "Kapınıza gelirlerse, zinhar içeriye almayın.
Never take even a spoonful of their soup. Zinhar onların bir kaşık çorbasına kaşık salmayın.
Do not give them even a spoon of your soup' he says. Onlara bir kaşık çorba vermeyin" diyor.
I am not making this up, the man is writing this; the inheritors of McCarthy are writing this. Ezbere konuşmuyorum, yazıyor bunu adam, yazıyor; McCarthy'nin mirasçıları yazıyorlar.
Now, which of you would like to fall into this situation? May God protect us. Şimdi hanginiz bu duruma düşmeyi istersiniz, hafizanallah.
Even if all causes were to cease and you were forced to the edge of a cliff, you would rely entirely on the Oneness and Unity of God, and in your loneliness say: Bütün esbâb bilkülliye sukût etse ve siz mecburen öyle bir uçurumun kenarına gelseniz, kendi kendinize -bütün esbâb bilkülliye sukût ettiğinden nur-i tevhîd içinde sırr-ı Ehadiyyetin zuhuruna dayanarak- niyaza durursunuz:
'O my Lord. "Aman yâ Rabbi.
Don't lower us to that level; Don't make us of McCarthy's inheritors. Bizi o seviyeye düşürme; McCarthy'nin mirasçıları yapma bizi.
We are trying to be the Prophets' inheritors. Biz, peygamberlerin mirasçıları olmaya çalışıyoruz.
We are trying to be the inheritors of those like Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Malik, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Fudayl ibn Iyaz, Bayazid Bistami, Junayd Baghdadi, Jilani, Abu'l Hasan al-Haraqani, Sheikh Harrani, Maruf al-Karhi, Najmaddin al-Kubra, Muhammad Bahauddin Shah an-Naqshband.' Biz, Ebu Hanifelerin, İmam Şafiîlerin, İmam Mâliklerin, Ahmed İbn Hanbellerin, Fudayl İbn Iyazların, Beyâzıd-i Bistâmîlerin, Cüneyd-i Bağdâdîlerin, Şâh-ı Geylânîlerin, Ebu'l-Hasan el-Harakânîlerin, Şeyhü'l-Harrânîlerin, Maruf-ı Kerhîlerin, Necmeddin-i Kübrâların, Muhammed Bahâuddin Nakşibendilerin mirasçıları olmaya çalışıyoruz."
They suffered; there wasn't a single moment they there were free of suffering. Çekmişler; bir an başları dertten âzâde olmamış, çekmişler.
While one mallet rises, the other would come down on their heads; they suffered. Tokmakların biri kalkmış, öbürü inmiş; çekmişler.
However they never strayed from their path, they stayed steadfast. Fakat hiçbir zaman çizgi değiştirmemişler, hep yürüdükleri yolda yürümüşler.
This is your path, by God's grace and will. Yolunuz, bu; Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
However, God may grant you an extra favour. May you experience the moment, that when you can't even imagine dawn, the sun will suddenly rise above you.
You will say 'Oh my God! We were waiting for dawn, but out of nowhere the sun already rose'. He can do this. We should not focus on the act of rising but rather the One Who has power over it. "Allah Allah" dersiniz, "Biz şafak bekliyorduk, birden bire güneş doğdu" doğurur doğurur; esasen doğmaya bakmayacaksın, güneşi doğuran Zat'a, celle celâluhu, bakacaksın orada.
Isn't He the One Who has power over all? O, her şeye kâdir mi, değil mi?
'Whatever God wills will exist and occur, whatever He decrees not to come into existence will not. "Allah Teâlâ neyi dilerse, o olur; olmamasını dilediği de asla olmaz.
I know that God is the One Who has power over all and has encompassed everything with His knowledge.' Bilirim ki, Allah her şeye gücü yeten kadîrdir ve O ilmiyle her şeyi kuşatmıştır."
The following is a holy expression read day and night by the Noble Spirit of the Master of Humankind: Sabah-akşam, Hazreti Rûh-u Seyyidi'l-Enâm'ın vird-i zebânı içinde söylenen mübarek bir beyan.
'God is the One Who has power over everything.' "Allah her şeye gücü yeten kadîrdir."
God also has power over this. Allah, buna da kâdirdir.
Some people have attained the peak of one's given potential through their sufferings alone. Bazı insanlar, sadece çektikleri belalarla evc-i kemâlât-ı insâniyeyi ihraz etmişler.
On the other hand, some have done this voluntarily by suffering with the spiritually enlightened. For example, through hunger and thirst.
In essence, one aspect of this matter is 'suffering'.
Let us recall Fuzuli's poem through the Imam of Alvar's expression.
Fuzuli's two verses are regarding 'love', he says: Fuzûlî "aşk" adına kullanıyor o iki mısrayı, diyor ki:
'O my Lord, afflict upon me the addiction of love "Ya Rab, belâ-ı aşk ile kıl mübtelâ beni
Don't set me free of love for even a moment.' Bir an belâ-ı aşktan eyleme cüdâ beni."
I think, if the Imam of Alvar who said: Herhalde, diyorum,
'Is there a greater remedy than suffering "Dertten büyük bir derman mı var
Is there a greater reason for forgiveness?' was in the place of Fuzuli, he would say: Bir sebeb-i gufrân mı var?" diyen Alvar İmamı, Fuzûlî'nin yerinde olsaydı, şöyle derdi:
'Afflict upon me the addiction of suffering' "Belâ-ı derd ile kıl mübtelâ beni
Don't set me free from suffering for even a moment.' Bir an belâ-ı dertten eyleme cüdâ beni."
Because with the affliction of suffering one will rise exponentially.
This is essentially all that he cares for, getting closer to God. Adam, onun derdinde, esasen, Allah'a yaklaşmanın derdinde.
And so firstly, affliction and tribulation have a fruitful attribute of strengthening, leading to ascension.
Secondly, if one does not grunt in displeasure saying 'Oh no! Why me?!', and instead remains positive and praises God.
You feel and say, 'Praise be to Almighty God. He is testing me. Cenâb-ı Hak, beni imtihan ediyor.
It seems that I am of some value in your sight, may I be sacrificed on your path.'
You show patience. Dolayısıyla sabrediyorsun orada.
In this way, in your ascension one of your wings is your suffering, while the other is the patience that you put forth.
You do not complain, you are happy with your suffering. Laf etmiyorsun orada, "Uf, puf" etmiyorsun, "Oh" ediyorsun.
With these a person may gain a great status that would otherwise require much worship, by God's will and beneficence.
I hope that by God's will you are of those who are pleased with all that has happened to you. Sizler, başınıza gelen bu şeyler karşısında inşaallah, "Oh" diyorsunuzdur.
Your pleasure of whatever comes from Him, are such well-directed steps towards God.
Whether you realise it or not God will raise you to such heights, like the greats of the past who when they opened their mouth to pray, their prayers would be accepted by God Almighty.
With the words of Bediüzzaman, 'Just as charity revokes calamity, the sincere supplication of the majority revokes grief'. "Nasıl ki sadaka, belayı ref eder; ekseriyetin hâlis duası dahi ferec-i umumîyi cezbeder" diyor Çağın Sözcüsü.
That is why we need to collectively put our foreheads to the ground and ask Almighty God to bury our troubles, to clear the path for our brothers on the path of service, to widen the narrow roads; our prayer mats should our witness, be wet from our tears, in the sight of God. Onun için söz birliği yaparak, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın, belaları def etmesi, kardeşlerimizin Hizmet'te yolunu açması, patikaları şehrâh haline getirmesi adına, gece başımızı yere koyalım; seccade, bizim gözyaşlarımızla ıslansın, şâhid olsun nezd-i Ulûhiyette.
May Almighty God give us an exit path and a dissipation of grief.
This will suffice you. Vesselam.
