A Conversation with the Youth-2

A Conversation with the Youth-2

All the sayings and traditions of our noble Prophet are like jewels, that is why people have said: Efendimiz'in her sözü, lâl ü gûherdir; onun için demişler ki:
'The sayings and words of the Prophet are the Sultan of Words.' "İnsanlığın Efendisi'nin sözleri, sözlerin sultanıdır."
Every one of his sayings is a sultan just like this one: Her sözü O'nun, sultandır; bu da öyle:
'The best of your youth are the ones who resemble your elderly'. "Sizin gençlerinizin en hayırlıları, yaşlılara benzeyenlerdir."
The youth that live their lives as though the signs of death have appeared already and every time they look at the world they are reminded of the Hereafter. Ölüm emareleri etrafında tüllenmeye başlamış gibi yaşayan, dünyaya baktıkça hep karşısında, gözünün önünde, âhiret tüllenen gençler.
Those youth who design their lives in this manner. Hayatlarını ona göre dizayn eden gençler.
Who say, 'Well, we are going to die one day'. "Nasıl olsa bir gün öleceğiz" diyen gençler.
This kind of youth. İşte öyle gençler.
This is possible, while the total opposite is also possible.
This youth are possibly better than your elders, your ancestors.
'The worst of the elderly are those who followed the impulses of their carnal souls and sinned a lot.' "İhtiyarların en şerlisi de, hevâ-i nefsine uymuş, pek çok günah etmiş kimselerdir."
Those who have reached the stage as Leyla Hanım describes in her poem: 'How can I face you, O Messenger of God!' Leyla Hanım'ın Naat'ındaki ifadelerle, "Huzura kangi (hangi) yüzle varayım yâ Rasûlallah" diyecek hale gelmiş insanlar.
'I gave in to my carnal desires, I engaged in many a sin "Hevâ-i nefsime uydum, pek çok günah ettim
How can I face you, O Messenger of God' says Leyla Hanım. Huzura kangi (hangi) yüzle varayım yâ Rasûlallah" der Leyla Hanım.
What great words, sweet expression! Ağzın şeker şerbet yesin, annem benim.
The youth, in one sense, who live for the Hereafter... Genç, bir yönüyle, böyle âhiret için yaşayan.
Spiritual chivalry that is represented by Mus'ab ibn Umayr. Mus'ab İbn Umeyr'in temsil ettiği fütüvvet.
In a poem I once said, 'I always admire Mus'ab'  "Hep Mus'ab'ına hayranım" dedim bir Naat'ta.
Even now when I think of him, I tear up.  Hazreti Mus'ab aklıma gelince gözlerim dolar.
When I remember Ibn Jahsh, the cousin of our Glorious Prophet, I tear up. İbn Cahş, aklıma gelince -halazâde- gözlerim dolar.
They lived in this world but they always looked towards the Hereafter. Onlar, dünyada yaşamışlar ama hep gözlerinde âhiret tüllenmiş.
At a tender age, they were not attracted to worldly things, they did not incline towards the things other than God. Daha genç yaşında iken, dünya nedir bilmemiş, mâsivâ üzerine katiyen eğilmemiş.
'Worldly life, worldly life "Dünyasına, dünyasına
Don't be deceived by the world Aldanma dünyasına
Someone claimed to own the world. "Dünya benim" diyenin
We went to his funeral yesterday'. Gittiydik dün yasına."
That's how they considered the world. Öyle bakmışlar dünyaya.
Mus'ab was such a gentleman, a genius.
When the Pride of Humanity considered sending a guide to Medina, he chose Mus'ab, who was just 20 years old at that time. İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu, Medine'ye mürşîd göndermeyi düşünürken -daha genç yaşında, 20 yaşında- onu gönderiyor.
Therefore Mus'ab must have had such a spirit of devotion.
He was never occupied by another love, nothing could distort his focus. Başka bir sevda, gözlerinin içine girmemiş; hiçbir şey, başını döndürmemiş.
Mus'ab had to manage his mother as well. Hazreti Mus'ab, annesini de idare ediyor.
She worshiped idols and threatened Mus'ab every day: Annesi putlara tapıyor; her gün değişik tehditler filan:
'I'm your mother. "Annenim ben.
I'll curse and disown you' she said. Sana sütümü/emeğimi haram ederim" falan diyor.
Mus'ab replied, 'Mother, I never disrespect you or treat you unfairly. "Anne, ben sana hiç kusur etmem, haksızlık yapmam.
I do not sin in regards to you. Günah işlemem sana karşı.
However, you cannot divert me from my path. Ama beni yolumdan döndüremezsin.
I found my guide, and I follow him step by step.' Ben, rehberimi buldum, adım adım O'nu takip ediyorum" cevabını veriyor.
Indeed, this is such a significant development at that age.
If it were us in his place, we would have probably hurt our mother's feelings. Hani biz olsak, ben olsam, akılsız, ya onu kırarım veya beri tarafta kusur ederim.
He neither hurts his mother nor faults in his relationship with the Pride of Humanity.
He was a man of such a high calibre. Bu kıvamdaki bir insan.
The Pride of Humanity discovered the good qualities in people;  İnsanlığın İftihar Tablosu, insan keşşafıdır;
he could evaluate them based on their behaviour, words, accents, and knew what they were capable of. insanlara bakınca, tavırları, davranışları, sözleri, sazları, vurgulamaları ile onları hemen keşfeder, "Ne işe yarar bu?" diye.
He sent Mus'ab ibn Umayr to Medina. Medine'ye birini gönderirken, Mus'ab İbn Umeyr'i gönderiyor.
In one year, Mus'ab returned with seventy people to pledge allegiance to the noble Prophet during the second Aqaba Pledge.
It is easy to say; these people used to worship idols. Ağza kolay; puta tapan insanlar bunlar.
He was always threatened with the sword but he said, 'Sit down and listen, brother'. Orada başında hep kılıçlar kavis çiziyor; "Otur kardeşim" diyor, "Bir dinle.
'If you dislike what I say, do whatever you will. I am in no position to oppose.' Beğenmez isen yine ne yapacaksan yap; benim boynum hazır burada, karşı koyacak halim yok."
He helps seventy women, men and youth enter the fold of the Messenger of God. Yetmiş kadın, erkek, genç insanı, insan hissiyatını kontrol altına alarak, Allah Rasûlü'nün emrine getiriyor.
This number increases every year. Öbür sene biraz daha artıyor, öbür sene.
And one day, Medina becomes the 'Place of Migration'. Ve bir gün orası "Dâru'l-Hicret" oluyor.
'The best of your youth are those who resemble your old people.' "Gençlerin en hayırlısı, ihtiyarlara benzeyen."
'The worst of your old people are those who resemble young people.' "Yaşlıların en fenası ise gençler gibi yaşayandır."
May God protect us from it. Hafizanallah.
Those who have reached the age of sixty, seventy or eighty are still acting in accordance with the whims of their carnal desires. Girmiş altmış yaşına, yetmiş yaşına, seksen yaşına, hâlâ hevâ-i nefsinden sıyrılamıyor bir türlü; onun güdümünde hareket ediyor.
Doing whatever comes to their mind, swearing, backbiting and lying and even if the people opposing him are taking others to Paradise he says, 'May that Paradise be destroyed.'
May God protect us from it, there are people like this. Hafizanallah; böyleleri var.
Have you ever heard anyone say anything against the torture committed towards the people of the Hizmet, who are trying to do the same as done by the Respected Companions? Hiç gördünüz mü siz sahabe-i kiramın yaptığı hizmetleri yapmaya çalışan bu Hizmet erlerine yapılan eziyetler karşısında bir ses çıkaranı?
Torture, murdered family members, babies who were born in prison, youth... İşkenceler, öldürülen çoluk-çocuk, hapishanelerde annesinden dünyaya yeni gelmiş çocuklar, gençler, delikanlılar.
The most intellectual people of Turkey either imprisoned or exiled.
Like Mehmet Akif said, indeed, this is what he said to Abdulhamid, all these atrocities... Merhum Akif'in dediği gibi -Evet, Akif'in Abdülhamid'e karşı söylediği şeylerdir bunlar- bunca mezâlim.
Those who commit such atrocities are doing that without blinking an eye. Mezâlimi irtikâp eden insanlar yapıyorlar onu; gözlerini kırpmadan yapıyorlar.
On the other hand, not one of those who call themselves 'Muslim' stand up and say: Fakat beri taraftan "Müslümanım" diye onların arkasından sürüklenenlerden bir tanesi de çıkıp demiyor:
'Is this not a little too much? "Yahu biraz fazla olmadı mı bu?
What have these people done? What are their faults? Bu insanlar ne yaptılar, nedir günahları bunların?
Well, they study to gain knowledge. İşte okuyorlar bunlar, ilim elde ediyorlar;
They become inseparable like brothers. kardeş gibi sarmaş-dolaş oluyorlar;
They work on building world unity. dünya kardeşliğini tesise çalışıyorlar;
They have exhibited exemplary formations in every corner of the world. dünyanın dört bir yanında örnek oluşumlar sergilediler.
What are these people doing that cause you to call them a 'terrorist organisation?'
Not one of those people stood up to this matter, to this misguided understanding and said, 'Enough, this has gone too far.'
Society has rotted; this is how we should evaluate everything. Toplum, nasıl çürümüş, onu ona göre değerlendirin.
It has rotted and decomposed completely. Çürümüş, tefessüh etmiş toplum tamamen.
And the responsibility of reversing that decomposition, to compose it once again falls unto you,  O tefessühâtı da yeniden formuna koymak, yani deformasyonu gidermek, yeniden formalize etmek size düşüyor,
by the permission and grace of God. Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
Making amends for the negligence of the past three centuries falls unto you,  İki üç asırlık bütün ihmalleri kaza etmek size düşüyor
with God's permission. Allah'ın izniyle.
So long as you live as such, you will be a thousand times better than the elders, as you are all at that state of maturity, all praise be to God. Böyle yaşadığınız takdirde -çünkü hepiniz kıvamınızdasınız, elhamdülillah- o zaman ihtiyarlardan bin defa daha hayırlısınız.
When our noble Prophet said, 'True friends,' perhaps he was referring to you. Efendimiz'in "hakiki kardeşim" dediği de işte sizlersiniz belki.
But there are some elderly who do not know where to go. Like a ship that has lost its compass, where it will dock to is unknown.
They are sixty, seventy, eighty years old. Giden yaşlılar var altmış yaşında, yetmiş yaşında, seksen yaşında.
They are unaware of what their age means. Yaşlarının ne ifade ettiğinin de farkında değiller.
A common saying used in my home town Erzurum which has remained in my mind from childhood; Avamca bir deyiş; bizim Erzurumlular kullanırlardı, benim de çocukluğumdan aklımda kalmış.
To evaluate age at particular stages: Yaşları belli kademelerde ele alıp değerlendirme:
At the age of ten, in the eyes of the parents, perch on your branch, sparrow. Yaş on -anne-baba nezdinde- bülbül dalına kon.
They are greeted with warmth and loving smiles. Sevimli, kucaktan kucağa, hep sevgiyle tebessümler ile karşılanır.
Twenty years old, fist is circular. Yaş yirmi, yumruk değirmi (yuvarlak).
Thirty years old, fist is like a hammer. Yaş otuz, yumruk topuz.
(A killer like the generations of today.) (Biraz daha -günümüzün insanları gibi- cânî.)
Forty years old, leave the beard, cut the moustache. Yaş kırk, sakalı bırak, bıyıkları kırk.
Fifty years old, everything is set. Yaş elli, her şey belli.
Sixty years old, all is said and gone. Yaş altmış, gelmiş-gitmiş.
Seventy years old, job is done. Yaş yetmiş, işin bitmiş.
Eighty years old, the mind is a little defected. Yaş seksen, kafa biraz noksan.
Ninety years old, you are here or you are not. Yaş doksan, ha varsan ha yoksan.
One who does not get a lesson from this, 'You are here or you are not.' Bundan ders almayan bir insan, "Ha varsan, ha yoksan."
If you cannot glean a lesson from this, then your humanity is in doubt. Bundan ders almayan insanın insanlığında şüphe vardır.
'Good morals and conduct' are an important part of faith. Esasen dinin önemli bir yanı, "ahlak"tır.
Our noble Prophet says, 'Acquire the good morals and conduct of God'.
When describing the Majestic Name of the Noble Prophet, the Chapter Al-Qalam from the Qur'an states, 'You are surely of a sublime character'.
It was not possible to communicate with stubborn people such as Abu Jahl, Utba, Shayba and Ibn Abi Muayt.
Like politicians, they have engulfed themselves into their life philosophies. Bunlar, kafalarını -siyasiler gibi- tamamen kendi hayat felsefelerine kaptırmış;
Whatever you say, they respond with their fists.  ne derseniz deyiniz size bir yumruk sallarlar.
But those like Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, like the Ten Companions Promised Paradise, like those who left their homes to go to Abyssinia and to the Luminous City of Medina... Fakat o Ebu Bekir, Ömer, Osman, Ali gibi kimseler, Aşere-i Mübeşşere gibi kimseler, hemen yurdunu-yuvasını terk edip Habeşistan'a giden kimseler, sonra Medine-i Münevvere'ye giden kimseler.
The women were capable too; our mother Umm Salama was genius.
Women like our mother Umm Maymuna would get up immediately without hesitation upon hearing the word 'migration'.  Ümm-i Meymune validelerimiz gibi kadınlar, "Hicret" denince hiç gözlerini kırpmadan hemen kalktı,
She placed a few belongings in her pouch and set out on the road for Medina. dağarcığının içine üç-beş eşya koydu, Medine'nin yolunu tuttular.
Our mother Umm Salama was also amongst those who migrated to Abyssinia. Ümm-i Seleme validemiz, aynı zamanda Habeşistan'a da hicret edenlerdendir.
After a period of time, she returned to Medina. Belli bir süre sonra dönüp geliyor Medine-i Münevvere'ye.
There were many like her. Ve bunların sayıları çoktur.
Women who took their place among the Pure Wives of the noble Prophet, from different tribes... Sadece Ezvâc-ı Tâhirât arasında yerlerini alan değişik kabileden annelerimiz.
They were all from different tribes, this ensured a strong network between tribes.
They passed on messages relating to the family sphere between their families and relatives.  Eve ait, kadınlığa ait meseleleri o aileler içinde, yakın akrabaları içinde onlara götürür-getirirler.
They had homes they could enter and leave unhindered. Rahat girip çıkacakları evleri vardır orada.
What they did was not inferior to what Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali did.  Onların yaptıkları da Ebu Bekir'in, Ömer'in, Osman'ın, Ali'nin yaptığından geri değildir.
May God be pleased with all of them! (Radıyallahu anhüm ecmaîn.)
Yet the importance of the women of that time did not receive its due importance in the Prophetic Biographies and their philosophy.
I feel sorrow in this respect.  Ben bu mevzuda teessürümü yaşarım.
I do not mean towards the Companions or those who followed them. Haşa, Sahabe-i kirama, Tâbiîn-i ızâma karşı değil.
When the philosophy of the Prophetic Biographies were being written, why wasn't space allocated for the contributions of the female Companions? "Siyer felsefesi yazıldığı zaman, Megazî yazıldığı zaman, Tabakât ortaya konduğu zaman, niye konumları itibarıyla onlara yer verilmemiş?" filan diye.
When we say this, one may ask, 'Was it really no space allocated for this?' Bunu söylerken, "Acaba hiç yer verilmedi mi?" denebilir.
Indeed, there was some space allocated for that, however, not in respect of its significance. Hayır, yer verilmiştir belki fakat değerleri ölçüsünde değildir.
In another term, it was not 'directly proportional'.
In a place, and ideal society, however small... Bir yerde öyle ideal bir toplum, küçük çapta bile olsa.
Like this size... Mesela şu kadar bir şey olsa.
Maybe 300 people... Evet, üç yüz insan.
Are there 300 people? Indeed, 250-300 people come together; they integrate and embrace one another.
When people witness this, they say, 'What is it that brings these people together to this degree?
No politics, no political benefit, nothing to gain from this world, what is it that made them fall for it, what are these people running after?'
In the least, it will awaken curiosity. En azından bir merak uyandırır o.
When an ideal society appears, I believe , it will be analysed through all of its perspectives, Yani, bir yerde ideal bir toplum oluşturulduğu zaman, zannediyorum, o her şeyiyle okunmaya başlanacaktır,
  Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
As a side note; you are candidates for this. Antrparantez; siz böyle bir şeye namzetsiniz.
Our friends and sisters have opted for this. Bizim arkadaşlarımız/hemşirelerimiz böyle bir şeye namzettirler.
To realise that utopia... O ütopyayı oluşturmak.
When you build a society like that mentioned in Farabi's The Virtuous City, you will gain a serious global attention, Farabî'nin "el-Medinetü'l-Fâzıla"sı gibi bir şey oluşturduğunuz zaman, çok ciddi bir alaka, dünyada bir imrenme oluşacaktır,
  Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
They will collect that society's values, its high morals. Değerlerini alacaklar onun, "Ahlak-ı Hasene"sini alacaklar onun.
It is narrated in a Prophetic saying: Hadis-i şerifte yine ifade buyuruluyor:
'Amongst one's deeds, there is nothing more lofty than good character'.  "Bir insanın amelleri içinde güzel ahlaktan daha yüksek bir şey yoktur" deniyor
On the Scales, it is the only thing that will weigh heavier.
Yes, our noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, states: Evet, Efendimiz (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem) buyurmuş:
'Acquire the character traits of God.' "Allah ahlakı ile ahlaklanınız."
Embrace everyone with kindness;  Yani, herkesi iyilikle kucaklayın;
if someone does a grains worth of kindness, don't forget to return the favour by taking a larger step towards them. biri size "bir arpa boyu" iyilikte bulunmuş ise, siz onu "bir adım"a çevirmeyi ihmal etmeyin.
If they only take a step, you should return the favour by taking many steps towards them.  "Bir adım" ile mukabelede bulunulmuş ise şayet, "adım"a, "adımlar" ile mukabelede bulunmayı ihmal etmeyin.
If they walk towards you, you should run towards them. Şayet normal bir "gezme" şeklinde size doğru gelinmiş ise, siz "koşarak" ona doğru gitme mukabelesinde bulunmayı ihmal etmeyin.
Similar to this... Bunun gibi.
This is Divine character.  İlahî ahlak, bu;
A Divine hadith states: Kudsî hadis ifade ediyor:
'When My servant comes closer to me, I come one step closer to him.  "Kulum Bana bir karış gelirse, Ben bir adım gelirim.
If he approaches me by one step, I approach striding. Bir adım gelirse, gezerek gelirim."
Of course, God is beyond actions such as walking, taking steps, or changing locations.  Hâşâ, Allah gezmeden, adım atmadan, yürümeden, yer değiştirmeden münezzehtir.
'He is neither a body nor a substance; He is neither a spatial entity nor of matter'. "Ne cism ü ne arazdır, ne mütehayyiz ne cevherdir.
He neither eats not drinks; He is above all else.  Yemez, içmez, zaman geçmez, berîdir cümleden Allah.
He is absolutely free from change and alteration, free from shape, colour or form. Tebeddülden, tegayyürden, dahi elvân ü eşkâlden,
He is absolutely pure of all such traits; and these are His Attributes in the negative.  Muhakkak ol müberrâdır, budur selbî sıfâtullah.
He is neither in the heavens, nor on earth, neither on the right or on the left, neither at the front, nor at the back.
He is above (not literal) all directions, He is free beyond space and direction...' says Ibrahim Haqqi of Erzurum in his Tawhidnama.  Cihetlerden münezzehtir ki, hiç olmaz mekânullah" diyor İbrahim Hakkı hazretleri, Tevhidnâme'sinde.
It begins with, 'My Lord is my guide, and my Prophet is indeed Muhammad, the Messenger of God'. "Hudâ Rabb'im, nebîm hakkâ Muhammed'dir Rasûlullah" diye başlıyor, sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem.
Similar to this, if this is someone's truth and reality, if his heartbeat is measured and it always beats the same, it has a regular rhythm, only then can they be convincing.
If one was different yesterday, different today, and different yet again tomorrow, these individuals can never be convincing or credible. Dün başka, bugün başka, yarın başka yaşayan kimseler hiç inandırıcı olamazlar,
May God protect us from such a fate. Allah göstermesin.
Let me describe to you the reverse (ugly) scenario:  Hani bir de çirkin misalini arz edeyim onun:
Imagine some people, who are watching the state of affairs in Turkey from a distance, in the courtyard of a church, a synagogue or a monastery, and people tell them this is what Islam is, I believe everyone would think something like this:  Bir kilise haziresinde veya havra haziresinde, manastır haziresinde Türkiye'deki genel manzarayı uzaktan seyretseniz, "Müslümanlık" deseler buna, zannediyorum herkesin dilinin ucuna kadar gelen mülahazalar şunlardır:
'God protect us from that, no thanks!' "Aman, Allah göstermesin."
If they show you Syria, for example, everyone would say, 'May God spare us!' Bir Suriye'yi görseler, Müslümanlık adına "Aman, Allah göstermesin" derler.
Today, there is nothing impressive or admirable about the Islamic world.  Bugün İslam dünyasında imrendiricilik kalmamıştır.
You, who are in the path of the Honourable Sage, the Shining Light Bediüzzaman, will achieve this objective, relaying the messages of the Messenger of God, Bunu -inşaallah- o Hazreti Pîr-i Mugân, Şem'-i Tâbân'ın yolunda sizler, Efendimiz'in mesajları olarak gerçekleştireceksiniz,
  Allah'ın izni-inayetiyle.
I have never lost hope in this matter.
Yes, you are representing a 'wavelength' of the manifestations of Divine favours. Evet, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın lütfunun bir çeşit tecelli dalga boyunda zuhurlarısınız.
There was a person that I really admired. Beğendiğim bir insan vardı:
Hüsrev Hodja. Hüsrev Hoca.
I never got to meet him. Hiç görmedim ben.
He was Albanian and he was very knowledgeable.  Arnavut idi, çok vukufluydu.
He was also the teacher of Yaşar Tunagür, who was one of the former presidents of the Religious Affairs, in Istanbul.
He was very knowledgeable and used to give lessons.  Öyle çok vukuflu; talebelerine ders takrir ediyor.
I would like to express a few anecdotes from him if you are not bored yet. -Bir-iki küçük hususu arz edeyim; sıkılmadınız ise.-
Yaşar Hodja used to say—may Paradise be his station, they both probably are in Paradise, God willing.
No matter what this situation, it falls upon us to say, 'If God wills'.  Her şeye rağmen bize "inşaallah" demek düşer.-
'One day, we were with other student friends—amongst whom there was Mahmud Bayram Hodja, who liked our Hizmet very much—we were going to class.
We saw a coffin in front of the door, there was also the bench on which the corpse is washed and cauldrons with boiling water inside.
We went inside, and sat down. İçeriye girdik, oturduk.
As if nothing had happened, the hodja continued to deliver his lesson to us. Hiçbir şey yokmuş gibi, hoca bize dersi takrir etti.
A side note: Antrparantez:
Hüsrev Hodja used to give lectures on Tawzih by Taftazani. Hüsrev Hoca "Tavzîh" okutuyor, Teftâzânî'nin.
Taftazani is one of the people who turned philosophical thinking more Islamic. Felsefi düşünceyi Müslümanlaştıran adamlardan birisidir Teftâzânî.
He was from the same era as Sayyid Sharif Jurjani. Seyyid Şerif Cürcânî ile muasırdır.
They supervised the army of Tamerlane until they reached Çubuk, during the Battle of Ankara. (Ankara Savaşı'nda) Çubuk'a gelinceye kadar da Timurlenk'in ordusunda, onlar, serkârlık yapmışlardır.
Taftazani was such a man. Öyle birisi Teftâzânî.
Hüsrev Hodja was giving lectures on his Tawzih. Hüsrev Hoca onun "Tavzîh"ini okutuyor.
In his last days; he was in bed.  Son günlerinde, yatakta idi,
In his last moments he was laying in bed, hardly able to hold the commentary book in his hand.  en son durumlarında yatakta uzanmış, tefsiri elinde zor tutuyordu;
Sometimes the book would slip from his hand. bazen de kayıyordu kitap.
Once it fell from his hands. Bir gün düştü elinden.
He cried sobbingly. Hıçkıra hıçkıra ağladı:
'O God, I cannot even do this anymore; I cannot even hold the book in my hand anymore. So, forgive me'. "Allah'ım, bu kadarını bile yapamıyorum, artık kitabı elimde tutamıyorum, beni bağışla."
He did whatever he had to do until that time.
Until he got to that point, that age. O hâle gelinceye kadar.
In bed Yatakta.
Laid up in bed. Ya-tak-ta.
So they ask Hüsrev Hodja, 'Sir what is the coffin, the boiling water, the cauldron for?'
I consider him as a person isolated from emotions. Hani ben onu bütünüyle insanî hislerden tecrîd edilmiş olarak görürüm.
When asked, he replies, 'I had a daughter studying university, she died, it is her funeral preparation'.
When teaching, doing what he needs to do, he forgets his family, his wife, his child, all of them.
However, I don't think that he was insensitive. Ben bu yüksek insanın kalbsiz olacağına ihtimal vermiyorum.
But we should know when we need to think of others, stand up for human values, or spread the word of God,  Fakat nerede o kalbi kullanacaksın, nerede insanî değerlere sahip çıkacaksın, İ'lâ-i Kelimetullah için çırpınıp duracaksın;
we should not mix these up. bunları birbirine karıştırmamak lazım.
Similarly, the Honourable Sage Bediüzzaman has refused the worldly desires as well. Evet, işte Hazreti Pîr-i Mugân'ın durumu da o; dünyayı elinin tersiyle itmiş.
One day, when the Honourable Abu Bakr was together with our noble Prophet, the Pride of Humanity, peace and blessings be upon him, made a gesture with his hand as though he was pushing something away.
The Honourable Abu Bakr asked him, 'What did you do O Messenger of God?'
He stated:  Buyuruyor ki:
'The world appeared in front of my eyes. "Dünya temessül etti Bana.
It wanted to make me accept it.  'Sana kendimi kabul ettireceğim' dedi.
I told it, 'You cannot make me accept you. Ben, 'Bana kendini kabul ettiremezsin.
Leave me'. Git' dedim.
Then the world said to me: 'If you do not accept me, your community definitely will after you!' Döndü bana 'Sana kabul ettiremeyeceğim ama Senden sonrakilere kabul ettireceğim' dedi."
When Abu Bakr was given a very icy cup of water one day, he saw it as a huge gift from God and took it to the tip of his lips and put it down without drinking and started to cry uncontrollably remembering this incident.
Even a cup of water... Bir bardak su bile.
Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, states in an authentic tradition:  Efendimiz (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem) sahih bir hadis-i şeriflerinde,
'Each child is born upon an Islamic disposition.' "Her çocuk, İslam fıtratı üzerine dünyaya gelir."
They are unconditionally innocent. Mâsumdur mutlaka.
Even if you were to swear, 'I swear by God that child will enter Paradise' you will not be wrong in your claim or commit a sin or make a false statement. Yemin etseniz ki, "Vallahi, Billahi, Tallahi, bu, Cennet'e girer" yemininizde hânis olmazsınız, günah işlemiş olmazsınız, hilâf-ı vâki bir beyanda bulunmuş olmazsınız.
A person enters the world in this original human disposition, a pure nature.
For this reason, our predecessors would bring along with them children who hadn't entered the age of maturity to make supplication for rain and say 'Amin' with them. Onun için eskiler, rüşde ermemiş çocukları yağmur duasında, Husûf-Küsûf namazlarında yanlarına alır, onlara da "Âmin" dedirtirlermiş.
Innocent in that way... Böyle, mâsum.
Just as we were entering, I saw one or two little kids; I said the same thing to them; 'You are sinless, so please pray for me, too.' Biraz evvel içeriye girerken, bir-iki tane küçük vardı; ben onlara aynı şeyi söyledim; "Siz günahsızsınız, bana da dua edin" dedim.
One of them was the son of my former student. Birisi eski talebelerimden birinin oğlu idi.
Anyway, I won't divulge into who that is, he may get embarrassed, he may cry, I have known him for fifty years. Neyse söylemeyeyim, utanır; onu bilirim, ağlar o hemen; bilirim onu çünkü elli senedir tanıyorum.
So back in those days, they used to make those innocent children supplicate in that manner. Şimdi o mâsum çocukları, böyle, dua ettirirlermiş.
We have very lofty goals and noble ideals.
We seek the prayers, supplications and seek the intercession of these innocent ones when we aim for Almighty God to give us success in reaching these lofty goals by saying, 'Ask for their prayers and supplications for us too.' Bunları Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın tahakkuk ettirmesi için onların dualarına sığınırız, vesayetine gireriz onların; "Onlar da bize dua etsinler" deriz.
This is an ongoing tradition from our elders and predecessors. Bu, hep öteden beri büyüklerin yapageldikleri şeylerdendir.
And it has been the case with God's permission and grace.
Yes, it is said that 'Spiritual chivalry is for you to return your soul to Me just as pure as you have received it from Me'. Evet, "Fütüvvet, nefsini Benden tertemiz aldığın gibi yine Bana tertemiz iade etmendir" deniyor.
That is the case. Öyledir.
God, may He be glorified and exalted, sends us here with a pure nature: Allah (celle celâluhu) temiz bir fıtrat ile bizi dünyaya gönderiyor:
We see this in the verse: 'Surely We have created humankind of the best stature, as the perfect pattern of creation' (At-Tin, 95:4). "Muhakkak, Biz insanı en mükemmel donanım ve surette yarattık" (Tîn, 95:4) ayetinde de onu görebilirsiniz.
But we also see, 'Then We have reduced him to the lowest of the low' (At-Tin, 95:5).
By using one's willpower to bring to action their disposition for inclinations and temptation, humankind has been lowered to the lowest of the low.
But it does not end there. Ama orada kalmıyor.
'Except those who believe and do good deeds. "Ancak iman edip güzel ve makbul işler yapanlar müstesnadır.
'For them is a never ending reward' (At-Tin, 95:6).
If one believes, and commit good deeds, they will attain that reward. İman eder, amel-i sâlih yaparsa, o ufku ihraz eder.
And this can be concluded with this: Şimdi bunu tamamlama esasen şununla olur; bunun ikinci mısraı -o tabiri kullanmak caiz ise- ikinci mısraı şudur:
Best to mention it through a hadith regarding this matter: Onu da hadis olarak aktarılan bir beyanla ifade etmek lazım:
'You will die as you have lived, and you will be resurrected as you have died.' "Nasıl yaşamışsanız, öyle ölürsünüz; nasıl öldüyseniz, öyle dirilirsiniz."
Once you crown your life with belief, with good deeds, with the prescribed Prayer, it is then that you can return your soul in the purity that you received it in.
As the Honourable Imam Rabbani states, 'Know that your prescribed Prayer is your ascension.'
God's Messenger crowned his Ascension by going beyond the heavens and reaching Almighty God. Efendimiz, Miraç'ını semaları aşarak, Cenâb-ı Hakk'a mülâki olmakla taçlandırdı.
If you stand before God five times a day with a deep consciousness, with intent, through submission, it will be just like your very own Ascension.
'The prescribed Prayer is the ascension of a believer.' "Namaz, Mü'minin miracıdır."
The Imam of Alvar—we used to call him 'the honourable Efe'—says:  Alvar İmamı hazretleri de -Efe hazretleri derdik biz ona-
'Prayer is the pillar of religion, its light "Namaz, dinin direğidir, nurudur,
Prayer drives the ship of religion, Sefine-i dini namaz yürütür,
Prayer is the master of all worship Cümle ibadetin, namaz piridir,
Can there be Islam without the prescribed Prayer?' Namazsız, niyazsız İslam olur mu?" diyor.
If it is incomplete or missing, everything lacks; and if it exists, everything exists at once. O olmayınca, olmaz; o olunca da her şey oluverir, birden bire oluverir.
From this perspective, the purpose is to meet with our Lord in the cleanest of forms just like when we came to this world.
We say, 'We come from God, we are from God; in a way, with His Self-disclosure, His creation, His producing and His originating uniquely. "Allah'tan geldik, Allah'tanız; bir yönüyle O'nun tecellileri ile, O'nun halkı (yaratması) ile, O'nun inşası ile, O'nun ibdâsıyla.
We are returning to Him'. Yeniden O'na dönüyoruz" diyoruz.
We wish, with all our hearts, that we meet Him again in the purest of forms just like when He sent us to this world in the purest of forms, without polluting ourselves with worldly filth, as kids get dirty.
This will suffice you. Vesselam.
