Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen hails Marmaray rail link

Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen has praised world’s first underwater rail link that connects Europe and Asia and said good things should be applauded and encouraged.

Turkish President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan opened the Marmaray project on Tuesday, which is expected to significantly reduce the traffic in İstanbul, world’s one of the most congested city.

In a speech published in herkul.org, a web-site usually broadcasts his speeches, Gülen said fairness is half of the religion and said it is necessary to accept right things as right. He added that one needs to applaud right moves and encourage those who realized them, referring to the Marmaray project.

He noted that even if it is small, positive things should be praised and those who implemented those positive things should be urged to do more. Saying that people don’t like to be judged and that there are very few people who would digest criticisms, Gülen said it is necessary that criticisms should not be presented as a “slap in the face.”
