The Future and the Youth

The Future and the Youth

We continue to try to occasionally get together with our friends to maintain steadfastness by evaluating our values and holding ourselves to account for our actions.
After this calamity (the pandemic), our friends are still trying to get together online and maintain steadfastness despite the circumstances.
We should definitely participate in such groups. Mutlaka o türlü şeylerin içinde bulunmak bizim de vazifemiz olmalı.
We try to participate in these online gatherings because we believe that we should be together with all the beautiful people who take part in these gatherings, we come to these meetings without accommodating evil thoughts such as 'Without us these meetings will be empty'.
I think 'All of my brothers agree with me on this issue'. Zannediyorum "Benimle müttefiktir bu recâda cümle ihvânım."
My brothers have the same thoughts, they are far from vanity.
Perhaps on many occasions when they look at themselves, they say, 'Goodness gracious! Belki çok defa kendileriyle yüzleşirken, "Allah Allah.
God allows ants to achieve great feats.' Cenâb-ı Hak, termitlere/karıncalara meğer ne büyük işler yaptırtıyormuş" falan derler.
They see that the source of all blessings is God Almighty, and they say again and again 'All praise and gratitude are for God, Who has guided us to this (prosperity as a result of the guidance with which He favoured us in the world)' (Al-Araf 7:43). (A'râf, 7/43) derler.
He first created us as humans, then gave us belief and then made us a follower of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him.
In the prayer I just read, there were several hundred attributes of our noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned such as 'The Unlettered Prophet', 'The Intercessor', 'The Warner' and 'The Giver of Glad Tidings'.
God made us from his community. O'na ümmet yaptı.
At the same time promised that He would be together with us, He would hold our hands. Aynı zamanda elimizden tutacağı vaadinde bulundu.
Thousands of praise and glorification upon Him. Cenâb-ı Hakk'a binlerce hamd ü senâ olsun.
If He, may He be glorified and exalted, had not granted us all these favours, we could not have had even one tenth of them. O (celle celâluhu) bunları bize lütfetmeseydi, biz, bunların onda birisine bile sâhip olamazdık.
That's what we say. Böyle diyoruz.
That is why we need to support all our friends in these activities, participate in them and share their workload.
Bediüzzaman once said: 'The sincere prayers of the majority will attract communal and widespread relief from God.' Ekseriyetin hâlis duası ile ferec-i umumîyi Allah (celle celaluhu) lütfeder, cezbeder" diyor; "Ekseriyetin hâlis duası dahi, ferec-i umumîyi cezbeder" diyor Hazreti Pîr-i mugân, Şem'-i tâbân, Ziyâ-i himmet.
We participate in our brothers' organised activities with this thought in mind.
Wherever it may be. Nerede olursa olsun.
If one day we travel to a galaxy far away and reside there, we would find a way to participate in such activities back on Earth and support them if God Almighty wills. Herhalde bir gün gökteki yıldızlardan birisinde ârâm eylesek, orada otursak, yeryüzünde yine olan bu türlü şeylere şöyle-böyle, hangi yolla olacaksa, katkıda bulunur, onlarla beraber bulunmayı sağlamaya çalışırız, inşâallahu teâlâ.
Essentially, that was the principle behind tonight's gathering.
As a matter of fact, one might think, why would they need me when they are already doing all of these? Esasen, şimdilerde bunca arkadaşımız, bunca şeyler yapıyorken, size ne hâcet?
Everything continues to move, everything is in motion and people are hard at work, all praise be to God. Elhamdülillah, her şey yürüyor; tren yürüyor, vasıtalar hareket ediyor, insanlar koşturuyor, elhamdülillah.
When you analyse their thoughts, you see that everybody has serious thoughts and considerations, deeper than yours. Duygularını, düşüncelerini analiz ettiğiniz zaman, bakıyorsunuz ki, herkes senin ötende, çok ciddî düşüncelere sahip.
In this respect, one may feel no need to take part; 'They are already doing it, why would they need me?'
But on the other hand, being among people who are hard at work in doing such good things is very important.
I personally think that way about myself. Fakir, kendim için çok defa öyle düşünüyorum:
When approaching the portal of Truth, or the lodge of the Prophet, I imagine being told 'O mischievous one, you may come too. Hak kapısına veya Efendimiz'in dergâh-ı nübüvvetine yaklaşırken, "Yaramaz, sen de gel.
Since you came among these people, I will let you in too'. Bunların içinde geldin madem, senin de kulağından tutup içeriye atalım" deniyor.
This consideration, this hope... Bu mülahaza.
That is why it is not right to stay away from these activities, we must strive to be part of them.
If we have something to contribute; an idea, a project, or a strategy, we can entrust them to our friends and they can take them into consideration, with the permission and grace of God.
We must do everything in our hands to bring back the spiritual expansion we experienced during regular times.
We met with three hundred, five hundred, a thousand or two thousand people here. Yani üç yüz tane, beş yüz tane, bin tane, iki bin tane insan ile şimdiye kadar görüştük burada.
They left with a feeling of spiritual expansion, essentially, we must remind them of this, it was like this yesterday and it still is today.
'We alternate these days of victory and defeat among people' (Al Imran 3:140). "İşte o günleri biz insanlar arasında döndürüp duruyoruz." (Âl-i Imrân, 3/140).
These days, blessed days, holy days, days full of light are upon us. Bugünler, kutlu günler, mübarek günler, pür-envâr günler; kapı kapı dolaşıyor.
Yesterday there was one, today we are close to another. Dün başka bir kapının önünde, başka bir eşiğin dibinde; bugün başka bir eşiğin dibinde.
Today will turn in to tomorrow, hence it is not right to live only according to the present. "Bugün"ün bir "yarın"ı vardır; sadece bugüne bağlı yaşamak doğru değildir.
You would confine yourself to a small world. Kendimizi dar bir âleme mahkûm etmiş oluruz.
We are the people who have tomorrow and days to come to consider, with God's permission and grace. Biz, "yarın"ları, "öbür günler"i olan insanlarız, Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile.
Since the beginning of time, days have kept flowing in this world and nothing has been based on a single day.
Those who worship this world value 'today', however, they have no 'tomorrow'. Sadece dünyaya tapan insanlara gelince, onların, "bugün"ü vardır; "yarın"ları yoktur onların, "öbür gün"leri de yoktur.
They will do everything in their hands to make the most of today. Bugünü elden kaçırmamak için ellerinden gelen her şeyi yaparlar.
They will even engage in various evil actions. Hatta çok değişik şirretliklere bile girebilirler.
However, we are people who have a 'tomorrow'. Fakat biz, yarını olan insanlarız.
Those who have a 'tomorrow' will endure many things for the sake of it.
What does a mother who is carrying a child in her womb go through for the sake of the future of her child? Bir anne, karnında taşıdığı çocukla yarınlar adına nelere katlanıyor nelere?
She suffers agony, she groans and does everything in her hands to protect her child. Bugün ızdırap çekiyor, inliyor duruyor; onu korumak için elden gelen her şeyi yapıyor.
And when that day comes, when 'tomorrow' comes, one will embrace that child in their arms, and then a young man, and then brave fellow who serves our noble ideals, one will embrace a man of noble ideals.
They endure the hardships essentially by thinking about this end goal. Bunları düşünerek esasen, o zorluklara da katlanıyor; katlanıyor.
Thus, we are faced with another such endurance session.
With a punishment from the All-Just God, a calamity, this pandemic has haunted the whole world. Bir, Cenâb-ı Hakk'ın cezalandırmasıyla, bir bela musallat oldu bütün dünyaya.
We as humankind endure that calamity.
The other parable is that we have faced cruelty from certain tyrants and are experiencing grief.
But with God's permission and grace, all of this will be overcome and dispersed. Fakat Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile bunların hepsi savulup gidecek.
Perhaps in this matter, it is necessary to provide those in challenging situations with such opportunity, even by online means, to say, 'Open up to us regarding any matter' and allow them to express themselves.
'Open your heart to us. What is your discomfort, your expectations?
We are ready day and night, for any matter; contact us with your phones, now everyone has smart phones.
You will definitely receive an answer.' Thus, making promises with God's permission and grace. Mutlaka cevabını alacaksınız" demek suretiyle, esasen bir kısım vaatlerde bulunmak, Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile.
If conditions allow, these online gatherings should be repeated frequently.
Perhaps after such tremors, it may be difficult to maintain the moral and feelings that we had in the past.
I believe everywhere around the world faces similar issues. Esasen, dünyanın her yerinde zannediyorum, aynı şey yaşanıyor.
The youth is exposed to the same situation.  Gençler aynı duruma maruzlar.
From our perspective regarding this matter: Burada bir de bizim kendi açımızdan.
We are not American. We came into a foreign country with various cultural differences.
Homesickness, remembering what we have been deprived from makes our heart bleed.
These can cause a feeling of being crushed or psychologically being defeated.
So, it is beneficial to indicate that we are an open door for them at any given time.
Tomorrow is another day; tomorrow will come the Day of Judgment. Evet, bugünün yarını var; yarın Hakk'ın divanı var.
It is not possible to predict what Almighty God graces us with.
We all get saddened, are grieved and afflicted, by physical sicknesses such as disease, also by the lack of loyalty of those worldly people, it gets into our sleep.
But as our master Bediüzzaman states, 'Heaven is not easy to obtain, and Hell is not without purpose'.
We are seeking big things. Çok büyük şeye talip olmuşuz.
Our Glorious Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stated: Efendimiz (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem) buyuruyor ki:
'Hell is surrounded by those delights that are attractive to the soul, luxurious and bohemian things'. "Cehennem şehevî şeyler ile, bohemce şeyler ile kuşatılmış; yolu-güzergahı, o.
'Paradise, on the other hand, is surrounded by challenges and things that do not appeal to people'.
From this perspective we should accept that the path we have chosen to walk on will be full of challenges, because the realm in which we want peace, comfort and happiness is the next realm.
And so, we must endure here. Dolayısıyla burada bir şeye katlanacağız.
But we also notice that at times, in this world, God blesses us with so many different gifts and beautiful moments.
Yes, what riches have our struggles blessed us with. Evet, cedlerimiz, ne saltanatlar sürmüş.
When we say riches, we are not talking about the prizes that the wretched hypocrites of our time covet.
Our struggle has led to the spread of noble ideals, to the spread of the virtues to different corners of the world, to be received by many. Esasen cedlerimiz mefkûrelerinin bayraklaştığı, şehbal açtığı, din-i Mübin-i İslam'ın dört bir yanda bir bayrak gibi dalgalandığı günler ile ferîh-fahûr yaşamışlar, inşirah içinde bulunmuşlar.
Sometimes, God Almighty will allow for this. Bazen Cenâb-ı Hak, onu da yapar.
In other times, some Prophets lived for many years, preached, and strived but left the world with no one accepting their message, they left the world seeing no fruit of their efforts.
Some spiritual masters, those on the right path and sincerity serve like Kings and Sultans and say: Hatta bazı eh-i hal, ehl-i istikamet, ehl-i ihlas kimseler, Fatih gibi hizmet ederler, Yavuz gibi hizmet ederler ve derler ki:
'O my Lord! "Yâ Rabbi.
Let me not witness the fruits and results of my service, take me away from this place, this realm before the success occurs so that I do not attribute this success to myself. Bütün bunların sonucunda neticeyi, o bayramı, o umumi bayramı bana göstermeden bir gün evvel canımı al; ben kendime bir pay çıkarmamayım ondan."
There is also this aspect of the matter.
In this respect, we need not think: 'We did such and such and will reap returns right away'. Bu açıdan, ille de "Böyle bir şey yaptık, hemen karşılığını göreceğiz/bulacağız." filan;
We need not be worried about the fruits in this way. onlara da takılmamak lazım.
Indeed, it is impossible to reach permanent goals and success with efforts tied to worldly gains and wealth, status, glory, luxury, etc.  Evet, belli çıkar ve menfaatlere, dünyevî huzura, debdebeye, şaşaaya, ihtişama gönül bağlayarak yapılan işlerde kalıcı bir başarı elde etmek mümkün değildir.
Those people lack sincerity.  O insanlar, samimi değillerdir aynı zamanda.
They think: 'Let me do this and collect the returns right away'  "Bir şey yapayım ve hemen karşılığını elde edeyim."
As certain politicians do. Bir kısım siyasîler gibi.
This is pure hypocrisy.  O, düpedüz münafıklıktır.
Our path is that of our Prophet and his friends the Honourable Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali.  Bizim yolumuz, Peygamberimizin yolu, Hazreti Ebu Bekir'in yolun, Hazreti Ömer'in yolu, Hazreti Osman'ın yolu, Hazreti Ali'nin yolu.
They did not experience pure and absolute peace at any point in their lives.  Hiçbir zaman onlar, hayatları boyunca mutlak bir huzur içinde olmadılar.
And when they migrated from this world, they did not even leave behind a shed in their name.
Not even a shed. Bir kulübe bile arkada bırakmadılar.
The Honourable Abu Bakr, after receiving a wage which would allow him to maintain a lifestyle of the typical/average level in his community, would collect the leftover portion of his wage in a vase. 'Tick' the coins would sound as they fell into the vase.  Hazreti Ebu Bekir, kendisine takdir edilen maaşı, halkın orta sınıfının kullanması ölçüsünde kullandıktan sonra, fazlasını bir testinin içine atıyordu; "tık" diye atıyordu, "tık" diye atıyordu, "tık" diye atıyordu.
He lived as the poorest of his community lived.  Halkın en düşük seviyede yaşayanı gibi yaşıyordu.
When he left this world behind, he gave this vase to his companions and asked them to pass it onto his successor, Umar.  Ruhunun ufkuna yürüdüğü zaman da yanındaki insanlara "Bunu, benden sonraki halife Hazreti Ömer'e götürün" dedi.
When the Honourable Umar received this vase, he tipped it over and the money fell out.  Götürdüler, o da döktüğünde, çıktı ortaya paralar.
A note also fell out of the vase with the money.  Aynı zamanda herhalde pusula da vardı testinin içinde; niye öyle yapmış:
'I was required to live as the poorest of my community'.
The Honourable Umar said: 'You did not leave room for those after you to live like a sincere Muslim', he expressed his feelings in this way.
I do not recall the exact words he used but Umar cried fiercely.  Tam, aynıyla aklımda değil ifade şekli onun; hıçkıra hıçkıra ağladı Hazreti Ömer.
This is how they were in the personal lives. Şimdi onlar, kendi hallerinde böyle.
The Honourable Uthman left nothing behind when he left the world.  Hazreti Osman efendimiz, giderken hiçbir şey bırakmadı.
Although he had so much wealth that at one time, he had donated 500 camels on the spot. Oysaki bir yerde beş yüz deveyi bir seferde hediye etmişti, bağışlamıştı.
This was wealth that came from his family; they had the means, they knew how to trade, which was their occupation.
But when he was close to passing away, he did so all alone, nothing worldly to accompany him.
This is our path; the path of our noble Prophet, the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, as our noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, states about: Bizim yolumuz, bu; Peygamber yolu, peygamberler yolu, Râşid Halifeler yolu ki Efendimiz (sallallâhu aleyhi ve sellem) salıklıyor onu:
'My tradition, path, are what is necessary for you. "Benim sünnetim, yolum, yöntemimdir size lazım olan.
After me, the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. Benden sonra da Râşid Halifelerin.
Hold on to them with your molars.' Ona azı dişleriniz ile tutunun."
This is an idiom; an idiom highlighting how strong we must hold to these principles.
He says, 'Hold tight to them with your molars.' "Azı dişleriniz ile sımsıkı sarılın" buyuruyor.
Just like when a person bites down with power, holds tight to something with their molars, not only their front teeth.
In other words, it is an idiom; you don't look at the meaning of these kinds of things, rather what the example aims to express.  İdyum yani; manasına bakılmaz bu türlü şeylerin, esasen o misalin ifade ettiği şeye bakılır.
That is what he said and echoed; he recommended following their path. Öyle buyurdu, onları salıkladı; onların arkasında yürümeyi tavsiye buyurdu.
And they were successful.  Ve onlar, başarılı da oldular.
The Honourable Umar's ten years, about ten years. Düşünün, Hazreti Ömer Efendimiz, on küsur sene.
The Honourable Abu Bakr close to three years. Hazreti Ebu Bekir efendimiz de -yaklaşık- üç sene.
The two superpowers of the world at the time succumbed to them.  Dünyanın iki süper gücü, onlar karşısında dize geldi.
And that was not by violence, war, and killing of people.
They entered people's hearts by representing the beauties of Islam. O güzel İslam'ın güzellikleriyle, İslam'ın güzelliklerini teşhir etmeleriyle esas gönüllere girdiler.
They reached the Great Wall of China in the fiftieth year of the noble Migration. Hicret-i seniyyenin ellinci senesinde, Çin Seddi'ne ulaşıldı.
Ponder upon it. Düşünün.
On horseback.  Atın, katırın sırtında.
Look, we haven't even taken one step. Bakın, bir adım gidememişiz.
The population grows from within; half of the people or more are dying from hunger. Nüfus kendi içinden çoğalıyor; milletin yarısı, yarısından çoğu açlığından ölüyor.
And some people are leading lives of pomp, splendour and extravagance and naming this as 'Muslim'; calling this as 'Islam'.
May those who act like this be destroyed.  Yerin dibine batsın öylesi.
That is hypocrisy, openly and fervently, hypocrisy. O, "münafıklık", açıktan açığa münafıklık.
Now, if there was the opportunity to see real great examples. Şimdi imkân varsa esasen güzel örnekleriyle.
I believe that the most effective way of advice upon others is by living by these great examples and putting them to practice in our lives.
We can find those examples within us.
There is no need to look back to the Rightly-Guided Caliphs' period. Tâ Râşid Halifeler dönemine gitmeye lüzum yok.
I ask forgiveness from God, the Caliphs are always great referrals for us, and we will always refer to and learn from them.  Estağfirullah, her zaman onlar bizim için müracaat kaynağıdır, her zaman gideriz oraya.
However, in our day, over the last thirty years, as opportunities arose to travel to other countries, without a doubt, many of us took the chance to move and integrate into unknown lands. Fakat günümüzde, on beş yirmi sene evvel, otuz sene evvel dünyanın değişik yerlerine açılma imkânı doğunca, ortam müsait hale gelince, eline çantasını alan oraya gitti, oraya gitti, oraya gitti.
There was almost no country left untraveled.  Neredeyse dünyada ulaşılmadık yer kalmadı.
That is to say, they did not live for themselves.  Demek, kendileri için yaşamıyorlardı.
Those who act for their own personal interests will never be able to leave anything behind for humanity.  Kendi şahsî çıkarları, menfaatleri adına bir şey yapan insanların insanlığa kalıcı bir şey bırakmaları mümkün değildir.
By no means are they genuine with their actions.
Maybe we have not been able to keep the balance either.
I do not mean to say that either, God willing it will be protected.  Ben, onu da demek istemiyorum, inşallah korunur.
It is essential to be able to integrate within the country we live in.  Bulunduğumuz bir ülkede esasen entegrasyon, çok önemlidir.
We need to live as citizens of that country.
Our thoughts, feelings and actions should not make them doubt us in the slightest. Duygularımız, düşüncelerimiz itibariyle bizden zerre kadar şüphe etmemeleri lazım.
We should not even allude to any actions or thoughts that might make them doubt we have worldly intentions or gains.  Dünyevî beklentiler adına çırpınıp durduğumuz vehmine sebep olacak en küçük bir îmâda bile bulunmamak lazım.
We do not have any worldly expectations or wishes, not even of that of a shed in a small village.
Our opinion should be of that within the country we are residing in—of their people, of the community and of their administration.  Bulunduğumuz ülkede, genel kanaatimiz, o toplumun, o ülkenin insanı, idarecileri hakkında mesele böyle olmalı.
Essentially, they should not question our intentions of these big goals.
We should wholly be part of this country, with all of our senses and heart; our intentions should include that of democratic elements; we should be at their service.
On the other hand, as we try to integrate, perhaps without realising, we might not keep our balance of thoughts and feelings.
We can call it 'assimilation'.  "Asimilasyon" diyebilirsiniz.
It is for this reason, we used to gather physically though now we are joining online, we must be careful to protect our own identities.
Protecting our identity in terms of 'religion, belief and connection with God.' "Kendi kimliğimizi; din, iman, Allah ile irtibat" açısından koruma.
A state of emptiness should not be allowed; in a state of emptiness, no one should cause other people to fall into emptiness. Boşluğa meydan vermemek lazım; boşlukta insanların boşluğa yuvarlanmalarına sebebiyet vermemek lazım.
It is necessary to stand upright, not for the sake of worldly indulgences, but for the sake of establishing true human values in the world, trying to be a pure voice for the people who have their ears open to reach spiritual expansion.
This must be our struggle. Derdimiz bu olması lazım.
The thought of 'Let mankind laugh, it is okay if we cry, may mankind be happy, it is ok if we have to cry'. "Bütün insanlık gülsün, biz ağlasak da olur; bütün insanlık gülsün, biz ağlasak da olur" mülahazası.
Establishing this, trying to spread this everywhere, with God's permission and grace. Bunu yerleştirme, her tarafta bunu duyurmaya çalışma, Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile.
Maybe the contradiction between integration and assimilation is behind this problem; perhaps for them it somewhat results in that spiritual condition.
They don't see this place as they own country; that is another fallacy.
Essentially, families do not have the psychological level nor the level of knowledge for things such as evaluating the country's yesterday and today in that case, which is normal.
Maybe we should make a contribution to their level by organising online programs for them, with things we can write or draw, such as journals, books and by giving seminars for them.
Somehow, they need to manage their children; they have to endure. Biraz da onların o çocukları idare etmeleri lazım; katlanmaları lazım.
Meanwhile, raising the level and knowledge of children in accordance with our own values and in harmony with the country in which they are located should be aimed for.
Nevertheless, we must do everything that we can to bring these families into this position.
As a matter of fact, these families don't have much to do also, they are not very different from children.
But it seems across the board, there is imitation, a cultural separation, as well as difference in country.
Therefore, if they make this difference a problem and use it against their children, I think they will lose them. İşte o farklılığı bir problem mevzuu haline getirerek evlatlarına karşı kullanıyorlarsa bence kaybederler onları.
It seems to me; our responsibility is to reach out to those families on that matter.
It's not only taking care of the children, even if they're educated, it is not that.
On the other hand, it is necessary to give the others a hand and to ensure concord and alliance between them.
God willing. İnşaallah.
However, to what extent would we succeed, naturally it's not quite easy.
Maybe one day if we can form systems that are able to represent our own values completely here; for example, if we have televisions, radios, if what happens with these vivid images truly comes to the rescue of everyone when they need it; if we have these facilities, with God's permission and grace, such a gap will be filled.
But now, we're at the beginning. Fakat şu anda yeni, işin başındayız.
We are not able to acquire everything we desire right away. Hemen arzu ettiğimiz her şeyi elde edemiyoruz.
However, with God's permission and grace, this doesn't mean that we are not going to.
One day, it was like that in Turkey.  Türkiye'de de böyle idi bir gün.
They were closely following five to ten people, keeping them under pressure, trying to mute them.  Beş on tane insanı bile yakın takibe alıyorlardı, baskı altında tutuyorlardı, sesini kesmeye çalışıyorlardı.
I have seen all these things.  Bunların hepsini yaşadık.
But the day has come, things changed, the movement started to undulate like a flag all over the world, our manifestations were heard, the world listened to those manifestations like music, with pleasure.
If God Almighty wills, it will happen here one day as well.  Bir gün burada da olur inşâallahu teâlâ.
In addition, there are some advantages here. Bir de burada bazı avantajlar da var.
For instance, many holidays occur.  Mesela, çok tatiller oluyor.
You do not have to waste these holidays; you can still make the most of them by bringing people together.  Bu tatillerin hiçbirini fevt etmeden değerlendirebiliriz, insanları bir araya getirebiliriz, buluşturabiliriz; onları, öbürlerini buluşturabiliriz.
By doing so, without realising, we will embrace each other as our differences will disappear. Böylece o farklılıklar ortadan kalkar, biz hiç farkına varmadan ortadan kalkar.
It seems to me that in the past, in the first boarding houses these acts of services were being done.  O evlerde, ilk dershanelerde zannediyorum bu hizmetler yapılıyordu.
I recollected something in the evening:  Akşam bir şey anlattım:
So, at one time, children of Muslim families were under the influence of Communism.  İşte Müslüman ailelerin çocukları bir yerde, bir dönemde Komünizmin tesirinde kaldılar.
I knew the child of a family.
The child was completely into it.  Fakat tamamen kapılmış ona.
Then the child must have attended classes in such houses once or twice.  Sonra herhalde bir-iki yerde böyle evlerdeki derslere katılmış.
He came to one of the lectures at a study house in Izmir. O derslerden birisine, İzmir-Hatay civarında bir eve -o bile aklımda- getirmişlerdi.
He came and sat there with us. O da geldi orada oturdu.
And he asked questions befitting the Marxist, Leninist, or Darwinist attitudes of the time.
I've forgotten specifically what was spoken there, it was a long time ago. Orada ne konuşulduysa unutmuşum, geçmiş zaman.
At one point we got up for the Prescribed Prayer. Ondan sonra "Namaz kılalım" dedik biz kendi kendimize.
He got up quickly and said,  Hemen kalkarken dedi ki, "Hocam.
'If you would excuse me, I must have a shower (major ablution) and come back'. Müsaade buyurursanız, ben bir banyo yapıp geleyim."
So, imagine, even such a matter had been overlooked. Hani demek ki artık o mesele bile kulak ardı edilmiş; o türlü şeyler.
I believe that there were many people there that had been tarnished and hurt.
If we don't abandon these people, with God's permission and grace, if we invite them to our houses, dormitories, and boarding houses when this calamity and misfortune has passed and bring people together in unifying and morale inspiring ways.
This scenario had really drawn my attention; these sisters, these ladies had paid heed to this matter in such sincerity and yearning. Buradaki o tablo benim çok dikkatimi çekmişti; çok içten, iştiyakla o bacılar, o hanımefendiler meseleye kulak kesilmişlerdi.
I believe that we can regain these blessings, by God's will and beneficence. Zannediyorum o durumu yeniden elde edebiliriz, Allah'ın izni inayeti ile.
But we must not abandon it, if God Almighty wills. Fakat arkasını bırakmayalım, inşâallahu teâlâ.
I seek your forgiveness for giving you a headache. Başınızı ağrıttığımdan dolayı beni bağışlayın.
May our Lord never deprive us of His grace. Allah, inayetini üzerlerimizden eksik etmesin.
For now, we will continue online, and soon hopefully come together, with God's permission and grace. Şimdi "online" devam, yarın yine belki bir araya gelmeye devam; olacak Allah'ın izni-inayeti ile.
I had mentioned this before too: Size daha evvel de arz etmiştim:
I had a delirious friend, someone close to me. Meczup bir arkadaşım vardı, yakınım vardı.
I'd like to recount this once again.
They would visit my humble, small dwelling in Edirne from time to time.  Edirne'de, o daracık mekânıma gelirlerdi bazen, nadir de olsa otururlardı.
They would envision some things, see visions, and behave differently due to these.
Although worldly people my refer to these as 'hallucinations' I did not say so. I said, 'Yes it may be, they may genuinely be seeing something of value'.
It was again one of these days. Yine geldi böyle bir gün.
Just like this, almost knee to knee, the place was that sort of place anyway, we sat knee to knee.  Tam böyle, neredeyse diz dize, zaten mekân öyle, diz dize oturdu.
All of a sudden, he became so concentrated.  Birdenbire bir konsantrasyona geçti hemen.
When they were behaving like that, out of respect for their sentiments, I would immediately adopt a cautious attitude.
When he, all of a sudden, sat down on his knees and pointed his vision on something, I would pull myself together, thinking, 'I suppose there is something extraordinary happening here', out of respect for their sentiments.
I asked, 'What happened?' "Ne oldu?" dedim.
After a while, he said, 'They are here!' Biraz sonra dedi "Geldiler."
He spoke in parts, which raised an ambition in me, and said, 'They are here!' O da parça parça konuşuyor, bende iştiyak uyarıyor, "Geldiler" dedi.
'Who are they?' I asked. "Kim geldi?" dedim.
He said: Dedi:
'The Spirit Pole of the Age; Süleyman Efendi.' "Bir, Kutb-u zaman; bir, Süleyman Efendi."
In addition, maybe for my sake, he said, 'And Bediüzzaman'.
This time, I raised my level of respect even more, I started to be even more cautious, and I waited a bit; you know, they may not have said the things they had said.
I asked, 'What do they say?' "Ne diyorlar?" dedim.
He said: Dedi:
'Continue your duty.' "Vazifeye devam."
Consider this. Bakın.
Three magnificent people, had come all the way to say, 'Continue your duty.' Üç tane kocaman insan, "Vazifeye devam" demek için, kalkmış gelmişler.
Well, continue your duty then. Evet, vazifeye devam.
'Never hurt a soul, or else you'll destroy the Throne of The All-Merciful.' "Sakın incitme bir canı, yıkarsın arş-ı Rahman'ı."
This saying belongs to the Imam of Alvar. Bu da Alvar İmamı'nın.
May God make your efforts worthy of thanks. Allah, sa'yinizi meşkûr etsin.
I have given you headaches, I have disturbed you; my apologies. Ben baş ağrıttım, izaç ettim; kusura bakmayın.
